Reform Physical Therapy

Reform Physical Therapy Dr. Paige Gillis graduated with her Bachelors of Science and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Dayton—Go Flyers!

She has a wide variety of experience in treating various orthopedic conditions, as well as women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunctions. Dr. Gillis believes strongly in treating the whole person versus solely focusing on one area alone. Like the famous “Newton’s Cradle” (see below), everything is connected! After a comprehensive evaluation with the patient, she helps identify the root of the problem and then creates a customized healing plan. Her personal touch, skill, and internal drive for helping her patients—she doesn’t like to lose!—establishes Paige as one of the top providers in the area. When she’s not in the office, Dr. Gillis enjoys spending time with her husband, and two kids (the latter, keeping her very busy). Dr. Gillis is also certified in Dry Needling, Myofascial Cupping, Graston, and is a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES).

Here's the truth: Your body is not fully healed at 6 weeks postpartum.

Here's what we need to normalize: Natural tissue healing after birth can take a YEAR. Not 6 weeks, 2 months, or when Instagram says you should be running again.

The first phase postpartum?
🫁 Breathing.
🧠 Calming the nervous system.
🦴 Mobility.
❤️ Grace.

You cannot rush the body’s timeline. Trying to “go hard” too soon can worsen diastasis, increase prolapse symptoms, flare pelvic floor issues, and end up setting you back months.

Remember: More is not better. Right is better, and sometimes right looks slow.

Let us help you navigate your postpartum journey.

If you’re using your strongest muscles to do everything…your weakest muscles never get stronger.

We call them “cheater muscles," and they’re REALLY good at taking over.

That’s why:
• Your pain doesn’t go away
• Your core feels weak
• Your symptoms don’t improve

It’s not that you’re not trying. Instead, your body found a workaround.

At Reform, we:
✔️ Feel what’s activating
✔️ Watch movement patterns
✔️ Adjust in real time
✔️ Make sure the right muscles are doing the work

Because if you’re already giving up time to exercise...we want it to actually count and benefit you!

Come and see us so we can help you do just that! 📞 419-628-2718

Can I just YouTube that?! We hear this all the time...and honestly? YouTube isn’t the enemy.

Most online workouts aren’t bad, but the problem with them isn't the exercise.

The problem is:

➡️ You don’t know what it’s supposed to feel like.
➡️ The trainer can’t see you compensating.
➡️ No one is correcting you in real time.

If we say “activate your core,” but you’re bearing down…If we say “engage your glutes,” but you’re using your back…That exercise goes from helpful to harmful.

Almost every patient we assess is compensating somewhere. And usually, it's a small adjustment or a different position that we need to show you how to do!

Want to make sure you’re doing it right? Let’s go through and move through them together.

No two bodies are built exactly the same, and no two lives look the same either. That’s why we don’t believe in one definition of “normal.”

Your version of normal should be based on your anatomy, your movement patterns, your daily demands, and what you want your life to look like.

Pain that limits you, distracts you, or dictates your choices isn’t a requirement for adulthood or motherhood.

There is a version of “normal” where your body supports your life. Give us a call, we'd love to help you discover your normal! 📞 419-628-2718

There was a defining moment in Dr. Paige’s career, and it happened when she became a patient herself. 🤍

As a physical therapist, Dr. Paige had spent years working in hospitals. PTs were consulted on nearly every floor:

➡️ Helping patients on the psych floor get up and walk
➡️ Mobilizing patients after surgery
➡️ Supporting recovery across medical units

But during her own postpartum hospital stay, she noticed something important. Physical therapy wasn’t part of routine postpartum care.

Her body had just gone through pregnancy, birth, and recovery, one of the most significant physical events a person can experience, yet there was no automatic PT check-in to assess core and pelvic floor function, breathing and posture, movement after delivery, how to safely return to daily life, etc.

That moment reshaped how she viewed postpartum care.

Whether you had a vaginal delivery or a C-section, your body adapts, and without guidance, those adaptations can turn into pain, leaking, pressure, or lingering dysfunction months (or even years) later.

If you’ve ever felt like postpartum recovery was something you were expected to just figure out, we’re here to help.

Call our office at 419-628-2718. We’d be honored to support you through this stage!

Let’s talk about what makes our approach different…

If your hip hurts, why are we watching how you breathe?
If your pelvic floor is acting up, why are we looking at your feet?
If your back pain keeps coming back, why are we asking about your workday, sleep, and stress?

Because at Reform, we are WHOLE-BODY STRATEGISTS! 🤩

Pain is rarely the real problem, rather it's usually the result of something else not working the way it should.

Your body is constantly adapting: compensating for limited mobility, bracing when something feels unstable, finding a workaround when something isn’t doing its job, etc.

And over time, those adaptations can show up as hip pain, back pain, leaking, neck tension, and even with you saying, "I don’t feel like myself anymore."

So instead of chasing symptoms, we zoom out. We look at how everything works together:
✔ posture
✔ breathing mechanics
✔ rib cage + thoracic mobility
✔ hips, feet, and gait
✔ core + pelvic floor coordination
✔ daily habits and movement demands

If you’re tired of temporary fixes and ready for a strategy instead of a band-aid…
We’d love to help.

Call our office at 419-628-2718 today and get on the schedule! We can’t wait to work with you.
