Reform Physical Therapy

Reform Physical Therapy Dr. Paige Gillis graduated with her Bachelors of Science and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Dayton—Go Flyers!

She has a wide variety of experience in treating various orthopedic conditions, as well as women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunctions. Dr. Gillis believes strongly in treating the whole person versus solely focusing on one area alone. Like the famous “Newton’s Cradle” (see below), everything is connected! After a comprehensive evaluation with the patient, she helps identify the root of the problem and then creates a customized healing plan. Her personal touch, skill, and internal drive for helping her patients—she doesn’t like to lose!—establishes Paige as one of the top providers in the area. When she’s not in the office, Dr. Gillis enjoys spending time with her husband, and two kids (the latter, keeping her very busy). Dr. Gillis is also certified in Dry Needling, Myofascial Cupping, Graston, and is a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES).

The question that everyone secretly wants to know. And the answer might surprise you!!

Most of our patients report improvement in their orthopedic issues after the FIRST VISIT!! And around 80% have a full improvement in 3 visits or less! 🙌🏼

This is due to the fact that, as cash-based therapists, we don’t have any restrictions in how we can care for you! We can get right to finding and treating the CAUSE of the issue, and every session is 1:1 care!

So what are you waiting for?!? We still have a few openings left for next week, and we could get you feeling better on day one!!

Call our office at 419-628-2718 today and get on the schedule! We can’t wait to see you! 😄

Let’s talk about something that’s not always the most glamorous part of pregnancy: pain! 😩 Whether it’s the backaches, those pesky round ligament pains, or the feeling like your body is a trampoline, it can leave you counting down the weeks until baby is finally here.

Many expecting moms think that this is just “part of pregnancy” (thanks to past experience or the well meaning words of your OB, mom or friends who say “welcome to pregnancy”…) 🙈

But here’s a little secret: pelvic floor physical therapy can be a total game-changer! 🎉✨ It’s not just for post-baby recovery; it can help you manage discomfort during pregnancy too! A skilled pelvic floor PT can work wonders in easing that pressure and tension, helping you feel more comfortable as your baby grows. (Even in those last few weeks!)

We have had numerous expecting mamas tell us that, after pelvic floor PT, they felt better at 38 weeks pregnant than they did at 28 weeks!

So, if you’re currently having symptoms during your pregnancy, consider giving pelvic floor therapy a shot! Your body will thank you. 💖

We know that the words “internal assessment” might make you feel like you want to run for the hills…. But hear us out—

The internal assessment of the pelvic floor is the gold standard in evaluating, diagnosing and treating most pelvic floor conditions. (Think about this—If you went to PT for knee pain, you would expect them to look at and touch your knee, right?? The pelvic floor should be no different!)

While some conditions can be treated without the internal assessment, (and many times, it isn’t the first thing that we assess anyway—and we never require a patient to do anything that they aren’t comfortable with!), we feel like most conditions can have faster and longer lasting improvements if we can see exactly what the pelvic floor function is like!

So if you’re looking for a pelvic floor PT, or if you have had pelvic floor PT before and didn’t see the results that you were hoping for, let us see if we can help by finding out exactly what is going on “down there”! Because in the end, you want to find and fix the cause of the symptoms so that you can feel better for the rest of your life!!

So, how do you treat Pelvic Floor Dysfunction???

Well, the treatment is based on the cause and the symptoms, but generally, we look at:

-your breathing (hello diaphragm!)
-how well you are able to contract and RELAX your pelvic floor
- how well the supporting muscles around the pelvis are working (i.e. your core and your hip muscles)
- AND MAYBE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT WE CAN DO—- when needed, we are specially trained to complete an “internal assessment” of the pelvic floor muscles. (More on that in our next post!) 😊

But at the end of the day, our biggest goal is to figure out the cause of the issue and then develop a plan to help you to feel so much better!! Because life is too short to feel any less than your best 🙌🏼

We still have a few openings for next week, so call today and we can get started!!
