✨ Sensory Hyposensitivity in Children with Autism

Some children with autism experience hyposensitivity, meaning their nervous system may require stronger sensory input to register certain sensations.
Because of this, they may:

🔹 Not respond when their name is called
🔹 Seem unaware of pain or injuries
🔹 Seek intense pressure or physical contact
🔹 Enjoy rough play or constant movement
🔹 Put objects in their mouth to explore
🔹 Become easily distracted by environmental stimuli

These behaviors are not intentional misbehavior. They are often the child’s way of seeking sensory input their body needs.

✨ THE PREMACK PRINCIPLE: MOTIVATION THAT MAKES LEARNING EASIER ✨

At Lebredo Behavior Analysis Services Corp., we use simple and effective strategies to help children build cooperation, independence, and success during everyday tasks.

One of these tools is the Premack Principle, also known as the “First–Then” rule.

**👉 FIRST clean up…

✨ THEN play with a favorite toy!**

This approach helps children understand expectations clearly while staying motivated. It teaches that completing a less preferred activity leads to something fun and rewarding.

Using the Premack Principle supports children by: 🔹 Increasing cooperation
🔹 Reducing challenging behaviors
🔹 Strengthening routines
🔹 Building independence
🔹 Making transitions smoother
