Happy National Doctors’ Day to Our Exceptional Physicians 💙
Today we celebrate the expertise, compassion, and dedication of our incredible team:
Emery M. Salom, MD,
Jacob Tangir, MD,
Jonathan Black, MD,
Taralyn Sowby, DO, and
John Siemon, MD.
Board certified and exceptionally well-trained, they are among the most trusted physicians to diagnose and treat complex gynecologic conditions. More importantly, they bring empathy, reassurance, and unwavering support to every patient they care for.
We are proud to have them leading the way for our patients and our community.
During Endometriosis Awareness Month, Dr. Siemon explains what’s really happening inside the body.
Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus — in places like the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or pelvis. These cells still respond to hormones each month, which can lead to inflammation, internal bleeding, and over time, scar tissue and chronic pelvic pain.
Common signs to watch for:
✨ Severe or worsening period pain
✨ Chronic pelvic pain
✨ Pain during in*******se
If your pain feels different, more intense, or is interfering with your daily life, it’s important to listen to your body.
You don’t have to push through it, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Our team is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day together, and we’re reminded how lucky we are to care for such amazing patients and work alongside such a dedicated group.
Wishing everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

Did you know up to 1 in 10 women have endometriosis? 💛

Awareness is key — early recognition and treatment can make a huge difference.
In this video, our patient Alicia rings the bell after recently completing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer under the care of Dr. Jacob Tangir and our dedicated oncology team.
Standing beside her in this moment is Trini, our incredible chemotherapy nurse, who helped guide Alicia through each step of her treatment journey.
Alicia’s story is especially powerful because she and her father were both diagnosed with cancer just weeks apart. Throughout treatment, they leaned on each other for strength and encouragement.
In a recent interview with WPLG Local 10, her father shared an important message that we hope everyone hears:
"I never went to the doctor and that’s one thing I want people to know. It doesn’t matter how strong you think you are — go get checked so you don’t have to be in this position."
Annual exams with your gynecologist are a key part of preventive care.
If you are experiencing persistent abdominal bloating or pain, frequent or urgent urination, or unusual fatigue, please schedule a consultation.
Our team specializes in diagnosing and treating gynecologic cancer and is here to help when you need answers.
Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend, and clocks move ahead one hour. While you reset your clocks, it’s also a good reminder to check in on your health.
Staying proactive about your well-being and keeping up with recommended screenings can make all the difference.
If you have concerns about abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, fibroids, or an abnormal Pap smear, our team is here to help.
Endometriosis can feel isolating, but you are not alone. 💛
This week, we raise awareness for the millions of women living with endometriosis. Support, education, and compassionate care can make all the difference.
💬 Share your story or tag someone who inspires you — let’s shine a light on endometriosis together!
As National Cancer Prevention Month comes to a close, the message remains important all year long 💙
Many cancers can be prevented or detected early through regular screenings, healthy lifestyle choices, and paying attention to changes in your body.
When it comes to gynecologic cancers, prevention and early detection truly save lives.
Simple steps can make a meaningful difference:
✔️ Stay up to date with Pap smears and HPV testing
✔️ Don’t ignore unusual or persistent symptoms
✔️ Know your family health history
✔️ Keep regular wellness visits with your healthcare provider
✔️ Ask questions and advocate for your health
Cancer prevention isn’t just a February conversation. Awareness, screening, and proactive care matter every day of the year.
Ever feel like something is changing… but you can’t quite explain it?
You might be experiencing perimenopause — the transition leading up to menopause that can begin years before periods stop completely.
Many women say the first sign isn’t hot flashes.
It’s simply not feeling like themselves.
You may notice:
✨ Trouble sleeping even when you’re tired
✨ Sudden heat or night sweats
✨ Mood or energy changes
✨ Brain fog or forgetfulness
✨ Changes in bladder or vaginal health
Here’s the important part: these symptoms are common, but they are not something you have to ignore or push through.
Understanding what’s happening in your body is the first step toward feeling better — and there are options that can help.
If something feels off, it’s worth a conversation.
Even celebrities face the same health fears many women experience. Recently, Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi shared her cervical cancer scare after doctors found cancerous cells during follow-up testing after abnormal Pap smear results.
“I’m terrified… it’s scary, but we have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about.”
Her message is an important reminder: routine screenings save lives. Pap smears and follow-up testing can detect abnormal cells early, often before cancer develops, when treatment is most effective.
Fear, discomfort, or busy schedules can make it easy to delay appointments, but prioritizing preventive care can make all the difference.
Cervical cancer is largely preventable with regular screening and early detection.
💙 If your doctor recommends follow-up testing, don’t wait.
