Please join us in celebrating Allyson McKelvey, RN, who was recognized by a patient for her extraordinary compassion, skill and dedication during a first‑time labor.

“Ally made me and my husband feel safe, heard and genuinely cared for. She made my birthing experience a ten out of ten. She treated me and my husband not just as a patient but as a person – with dignity, compassion and respect. Nurses like her remind us of the profound impact that one person can make in the lives of patients and families.”

Thank you, Ally, for the exceptional care you provide every day and for truly exemplifying what it means to be an extraordinary nurse.

Losing an hour of sleep during the time change may not seem like much, but it can have real impacts on how we feel and function. One lost hour may increase the risk of accidents and even heart‑related issues for those with underlying conditions.

Saint Joseph Sleep Medicine nurse practitioner Anna Matulewicz says the best way to prepare is to gradually shift your sleep schedule in the days leading up to the time change—going to bed and waking up about 10 minutes earlier each day. This is especially important for kids, who need more sleep and may struggle at school or during activities if they lose that extra hour.

As we get ready to spring forward, making small adjustments now can help everyone feel more rested and ready for the week ahead.

The days are getting longer; the weather is getting warmer and soon we will lose an hour of sleep. On March 8th we will spring forward one hour as we welcome Day
