Collaborative Effort, PLLC Kerry N. Herndon, LCSW, LAC

Strengths-based therapy for teens & adults. I have extensive experience working with teens and their families.

My practice is aimed at providing a strengths based approach to substance use disorder, complex trauma and behavioral health counseling services to Clients age 14 or older. In addition, I provide infertility counseling to individuals and couples with reproductive health concerns. I am a firm believer in building a sense of self-compassion, finding benefits in nutrition and movement as part of healing, utilizing creativity to motivate and inspire change, meeting people where they are at in their process and letting the Client be in charge of their own therapeutic journey. For over 10 years, I mediated parenting-plans and providing parent-teen mediation services through a community-based mediation program. I continued my experience volunteering to provide life skills education at an adolescent in-patient treatment facility, substance use psycho-education groups to college students, group therapy and individual early intervention services at a college substance use program. I also worked in a school providing prevention and early intervention services. I have also provided in-patient services, intensive outpatient group therapy, level 1 treatment groups and individual therapy, MIP education, school-based therapy and chemical dependency evaluations. I have built a curriculum for an ACE’s informed trauma therapy program utilized by a youth court program and have implemented a combination of strategies for counseling individuals whom have experienced trauma. My motivation to provide infertility treatment is based on my own personal experience with infertility treatment. My husband and I struggled for many years and underwent many medical interventions. The process was a lonely, emotional process full of grief and shame. There were no support programs available. Upon talking to others after we moved past this experience, I identified a need to provide clinical support and connect individuals with shared experiences. I have spent a great deal of time exploring research regarding reproductive trauma and infertility counseling. I recognize infertility treatment is an expensive process and will be offering these services at a reduced rate. I am willing to discuss my practice or my professional experience with you further should you have questions.
