Red light therapy was one of my favorite therapies I did post explant surgery. It is incredibly nurturing for your body and I swear I can feel it actually light up my cells!
At a cellular level, red light therapy works by interacting with the mitochondria which is the energy centers of our cells. These wavelengths are absorbed by the mitochondria, supporting their ability to produce energy more efficiently, which can help the body repair, recover, and restore itself with greater ease.
Below are five incredible health benefits of incorporating red light therapy into your daily routine:
✨ Improves skin health
Clinically shown to support collagen production, improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and support wound healing.
✨ Enhances muscle recovery & performance
Used pre or post-workout, it can reduce muscle soreness and improve recovery time.
✨ Supports joint & tissue health
Near-infrared light penetrates deeper into tissues, making it helpful for joints, tendons, and connective tissue comfort.
✨ Supports circadian rhythm & sleep quality
Unlike blue light, red light does not suppress melatonin and helps promote relaxation when used in the evening.
This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about creating an environment where your body feels safe enough to restore itself.
Think:
✨ support, not stimulation
✨ consistency over intensity
✨ nervous system friendly healing
What’s one practice that has felt truly supportive to your body lately? I’d love to hear in the comments below. 😊
