Good Morning!
The Community Dispute Resolution Center will be participating in Missoula Gives again this year!
At the Community Dispute Resolution Center (CDRC), we believe in the transformative power of mediation to resolve conflicts and foster a community where disputes are pathways to growth and understanding. We are committed to empowering individuals, organizations, and government entities to choose dialogue over division, transforming conflict into collaboration.

The CDRC offers mediation services and trains mediators to help resolve conflicts outside of court settings. Promoting understanding and cooperation within the community bridges the justice gap and enhances the overall efficacy of dispute resolution.

Every dollar helps make a difference in our mission to build a more compassionate community where every resolution strengthens our collective bond.

Good Morning!
The Community Dispute Resolution Center of Missoula County (CDRC) is participating in the 2023 Missoula Gives campaign May 4 and 5th.

Each year CDRC volunteers mediate approximately two hundred cases for Missoula County's Justice Court System: including property owner/tenant and small claims cases. In addition, CDRC volunteers mediate approximately seventy-five parenting plans for District Court each year. Our mediation settlement rate averages close to 70 per cent. We also provide annual training in Conflict Resolution techniques which include Fundamentals of Mediation, Family Law Mediation, and Workplace Conflict Resolution.

Our Mission:
To educate and empower our citizens to resolve conflict through mediation, dialogue, collaboration, and agreement.

Our Vision:
We envision a day when mediation is the first response to conflict and people learn effective dispute resolution skills as a part of life. We work toward a time when people understand mediation and other alternative dispute resolution techniques and look to the CDRC as an accessible and trusted source of training and assistance.

We want our volunteers, staff, and Board members to feel a profound sense of accomplishment for the services they provide our community and would like the community to feel pride in the work of the CDRC.

Our Volunteers:
The CDRC is comprised of a dedicated corps of volunteer mediators who help community members resolve their conflicts in a variety of disputes including small claims, civil, contracts, property owner/tenant, neighborhood, and family conflicts.

Our Story

Mediation is a collaborative problem solving process where individuals and groups resolve their conflicts with the help of a neutral third party knows as a mediator. The mediator facilitates communication so the disputing parties can work toward negotiating a solution. It focuses on solving problems, not fixing blame, and it empowers parties to create their own solutions.

The CDRC is a 501c(3) organization that has been serving Missoula and its surrounding areas since 1995. Through a core group of well trained volunteers, it provides low mediation services for a variety of circumstances to the community. This service saves the Missoula Court System and the disputing parties involved valuable time and money. The CDRC also conducts mediation training and continuing education classes that meet state requirements for mediation certification.
