Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese (Rei) which means "universal life" and (Ki) which means "energy". Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy. Reiki the the life force energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and us it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person's energy should be strong and free flowing. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance. Reiki is a great tool for stress reduction and relaxation. Reiki is not a cure for disease or illness, but it can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels - physical and emotional. Reiki is a great tool that also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques. A Reiki session is pleasant and relaxing. Frequently Asked Questions:

In Hawaii, there is a powerful phrase, Mai Na Loko, which translates to “inside sickness.” It describes how deep emotional wounds, particularly those caused by family conflict or trauma, can make the body physically ill. Modern science now supports this wisdom, showing that emotional pain often begins in the gut and spreads throughout the body.

When stress, betrayal, or unresolved trauma festers, the body responds with heightened cortisol and disrupted gut microbiota. Over time, this creates an acidic internal environment where harmful bacteria thrive. The result is chronic inflammation, a silent driver behind bloating, digestive distress, autoimmune conditions, cardiovascular issues, and even certain cancers.

Researchers are also finding that trauma-related inflammation doesn’t stay in the gut. It crosses into the brain, altering mood and cognition, increasing the risk of anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders. The gut-brain connection proves that what happens emotionally is inseparable from what happens physically.

Hawaiian culture understood this long before Western medicine gave it a name. Mai Na Loko is a reminder that family dynamics, love, or lack of it, directly influence health. Toxic relationships can quite literally ferment inside the body, while healing, compassion, and connection can restore balance.

This knowledge calls for a holistic view of health, where emotional well-being, family bonds, and inner peace are as important as diet and exercise. Addressing unresolved trauma through therapy, communication, or mindfulness is not just about mental healing, it is also a powerful step toward physical recovery.

Health begins inside. What we hold in our hearts and minds shapes what happens in our bodies.

Holy Basil is one of my favorite oils to add to blends for stress or anxiety.

Stress can feel relentless, but a new study reveals that just 40 minutes after ingesting a standardized Holy Basil extract, cortisol levels drop by 36%, making this adaptogen a fast-acting stress solution.

Researchers attribute this rapid cortisol reduction to bioactive compounds like eugenol, rosmarinic acid, and ursolic acid interacting with the HPA axis to dampen overactive stress signals. Controlled trials with 500 mg doses showed measurable hormonal shifts within 40 minutes.

Incorporating Holy Basil tea or capsules ahead of high-pressure meetings, workouts, or deadlines could reset your stress response and enhance emotional resilience. Mood support, sleep improvement, and proven cortisol control make this adaptogen poised to redefine contemporary stress management routines.
