A great Friday afternoon included our monthly card-making class with Andrea and our FIT to be Strong® class, featuring a special visitor, Phoenix! Residents were entertained and inspired as Phoenix joined in on each move while Life Enrichment Assistant Ellie led the class. There were plenty of giggles, and even a few residents trying to teach Phoenix a thing or two!

Gen and Chuck's story is one of coming full circle. They first met at Old Main Village, a community managed by The Goodman Group, when it was part of Minnesota State Mankato's campus in 1955. Nearly 70 years later, they call the same building home. Riverside Health & Rehabilitation resident Harry G. is teaching his fellow residents how to use modern slang to better connect with younger generations. A former teacher himself, Harry is doing a great job leading the class, and everyone is having a lot of fun learning together.

The homework for the week is for residents to use one of their new slang words with staff before the next class. We cannot wait to hear how it goes.
