We recently lost a dear member of our Community Medical Center family — Mark Nelson, a beloved housekeeper and floor technician who spent years brightening the halls of our hospital. Among his many passions, Mark had a special love for cars, and each summer he proudly showed his award-winning 1966 Ford F100 — a treasured gift from his grandfather — at regional car shows.

To celebrate his life and the things he loved, we're hosting a car show in the Community Medical Center parking lot (by Inpatient Rehabilitation) following his Celebration of Life on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

If you or anyone you know has a unique car and would like to participate, please reach out to Megan Condra at mcondra@communitymed.org — we'd be honored to have you there.

While he doesn't have many living family members, Mark had many friends and loved to make new ones, anyone is welcome to join us for his Celebration of Life and/or Car Show: Sunday, April 26, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the CMC courtyard (outside the Gallagher Room / Inpatient Rehabilitation)

Car show to follow in the parking lot

Mark loved this community — let's show up for him.

A low-dose CT scan is fast and simple. And it can help catch cancer earlier when it’s easier to treat. If you’re at higher risk based on your age, health history or lifestyle, talk with your doctor today. Get a lung screening today. Breathe easier tomorrow.

Most seasonal allergies can be managed with over-the-counter medications and simple lifestyle changes, but it’s important to see a healthcare provider if your symptoms are worsening or affecting your daily life. A conversation with your doctor can help identify triggers and result in recommended treatments so you can make a plan to enjoy spring without discomfort.

Congratulations to Matt Llewellyn, CNA, on receiving our BEE Award!

Matt is a shining example of what it means to be exceptional every day. In his time on our Acute Care / Med-Surg unit, he's built trust with his team through hard work, reliability, and a genuine commitment to patient safety.

Matt volunteers wherever he's needed — including stepping up for our Outpatient Lab to make sure patients never experience delays in their care. He precepts new CNAs, leads skills lab education, and works every single day to help his team work smarter, not harder.

We are so lucky to have you, Matt. Thank you for BEEing exceptional!

Our NICU has just made history — becoming the first hospital in the entire country to receive a Level III with Surgery designation from the American Academy of Pediatrics. We're also the first in Montana to receive any AAP neonatal designation.

This recognition means families across our region can access nationally certified, world-class newborn care right here at home — 24/7, 365 days a year.

And this year, we're also celebrating 50 years of caring for Montana's tiniest fighters.
Thank you to every family who has trusted us, and to the incredible team that makes this care possible every single day.

To our United Health Care insurance community members. Community Medical Center has spent the past several months working to establish a new agreement with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) — one that protects your access to in-network care in Missoula.

We're happy to announce that we've reached that agreement! Our hospital, medical group, and employed providers will remain in-network with UHC commercial and Medicare Advantage plans.

We believe you deserve access to high-quality care in your own community, and we're proud that this new agreement allows us to keep serving UHC members while continuing to advance our mission of making communities healthier.

Thank you for your patience and trust throughout this process — it means the world to our team.
