Good morning everyone! I'm ecstatic to celebrate my 8-year anniversary at Edgewood Missoula, where time has flown by in the blink of an eye, filling my heart with immense joy and gratitude! As our wellness and enrichment coordinator, I'm deeply humbled to serve our incredible residents, who inspire me every day with their unwavering optimism, unbridled laughter, and remarkable resilience. I'm constantly learning from each of them and feel profoundly grateful for the privilege of sharing in their lives. Our residents' families become like our own, and I'm thankful for the unwavering support of our wonderful coworkers and management team. While some days can be tough, I know that taking a step back, refocusing, and drawing on our collective strength can make all the difference. I feel truly blessed and love my job.

Good evening, everyone! Yesterday we had an incredibly inspiring veteran celebration that turned out to be truly unforgettable, thanks to the outstanding efforts of our Jeff, our dining supervisor, who prepared a mouth-watering meal. Thanks, Jeff, your contribution was amazing! I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our new business office director, Brii Kelly, for lending a helping hand with decorations and wherever assistance was needed. Thank you, Brii, your support meant the world! I also want to thank our day shift team, our maintenance director, Stefan, and our nurse, Cindy, for their invaluable help wherever it was needed. We deeply appreciate all of you. A huge thank you to Dave, Phil, and Connie for the fantastic music entertainment and hilarious jokes from Connie. I want to thank all the families who joined us to pay tribute to our courageous veteran residents.

Forrest “Stan” Sharkey was hopping freight trains out of Indianapolis and living under a bridge in Bismarck. By 15, he was working nights as a hotel elevator operator for just $1 a day. He still chuckles as he recalls the characters he met and the stories that came with the job—just a glimpse into the many colorful memories he shares with his trademark humor.

From those bold beginnings to serving on the front lines of WWII, Stan’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. At 99, he continues to captivate everyone with the way he tells it.

Edgewood Missoula would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest residents, Gayle, and we are all thrilled to embark on this journey of getting to know you and your family. Gayle, enjoyed the spirit of adventure in our baking class this morning, crafting delectable peanut butter white chocolate chip cookies, then unleashed her playful side in our noodle balloon busters game, afterwards, shined in our exercises, and celebrated a triumphant win in Bingo, achieving blackout.

Happy Veterans Day Everyone! We offer our heartfelt gratitude to all our current and former residents for their courageous services and sacrifices, and we also extend our deepest appreciation to their wives for their selfless sacrifices. We feel truly blessed and honored to be able to provide care for our veterans. Listening to our veterans share their inspiring stories yesterday and help fold the flag, and learning about the meaningful significance of each fold of the flag with the guidance of Barbara Husband Wendell as I assisted our veterans in folding the flag, was a profoundly moving experience. It's incredibly uplifting and a tremendous honor. Thank you Dale, Richard, and King, and Jeff for your remarkable services! We salute all of you. We give a moment of silence for all our former residents who have passed and thank them for their service and sacrifices. This coming friday we will be honoring our veterans.

Her presence was a gift, filling our hearts with joy and laughter. We are deeply grateful to Jane's family for entrusting us with the privilege of caring for her with the same love and devotion as our own family. Happy Hump Day Everyone! Today was a truly uplifting day that started with our baking class creating six magnificent apple pies. We're deeply grateful to our former family member Bill for generously bringing in some delicious honey crisp apples yesterday. We were thrilled to see Bill and catch up on how he and his family are doing. Then, we savored a delectable lunch expertly prepared by Jeff, consisting of cod, green beans, side salad, and cheesy scalloped potatoes. After lunch, we continued crafting our apple pies, and our residents did an outstanding job with my guidance. We concluded our evening with scrumptious pumpkin muffins and an exciting game of Bingo. It was an incredible day filled with joy and celebration, including the birthdays of two of our beloved residents, Patti and Nancy, Happy Birthday! We love you both. We also had fun pet therapy with Tootsie! Thanks Nancy for bringing Tootsie for everyone to get their cuddles in.
