The Healing Oasis SD Call 990-4100 Book Online: www.thehealoasis.com What is Float Therapy? When inside the pod, the individual floats effortlessly on the surface.
(225)

Float therapy is quite simply the most incredible means of stress relief and relaxation available. The pod contains 10 inches of super-saturated salt solution which creates an environment similar to the Dead Sea. The water is heated to skin temperature (93.5 degrees) which makes it virtually impossible for the individual to distinguish between parts of the body that are in contact with the water a

nd those that aren’t. In effect the brain is “fooled” into believing the person is floating in mid-air. Unless you are an astronaut, this is the only situation you will encounter where your body is completely free from the harmful forces of gravity…every single muscle in the body is allowed to totally relax. If you wish to use ear plugs and turn the tank’s interior lights off, the quietness and dark environment allow the mind to drift into the deepest state of relaxation possible. The buoyancy created by the dense Epsom Salt solution effectively removes the effects of gravity on the body and brings the individual close to an experience of total weightlessness. Because a massive amount of brain-power is used every second in order to deal with the huge strain that gravity places on one’s body, this is the only environment which allows the brain to completely shut down and relax. With no commands needing to be sent out, the logical side of the brain is rendered redundant, and its activity slows down until it synchronizes with the creative side. This leaves the individual in a dream-like state, akin to the thoughts experienced just before you go to sleep. In this state, the brain releases vast amounts of endorphins. While the state of relaxation may be deep and profound, the individual’s brain stays dreamily alert. To get technical, the brain gradually shifts from its usual “alpha” state to generate theta waves (the state-of-mind that Buddhist monks try to reach through hours of meditation and years of training.) You can achieve this in a matter of minutes just by lying down! Best of all, the effects of floatation are cumulative – the more regularly you float, the better it gets. Benefits:

Rainy days just hit different… and honestly, still kind of the perfect excuse for a sauna session. Am I wrong?

Something about the gloomy weather just makes slowing down feel a little more justified. Warm up, sweat it out, and take a minute for yourself while everything outside is doing its thing.

If you’ve been needing a reset, this is your sign.
We’re open Saturdays 10–5

With everything we’ve been working on behind the scenes at The Healing Oasis, along with the connections we’ve made through the Holistic Wellness Fair and within the community, it’s been a good reminder of why we do this and how much these tools can support everyday life or when you need it most.

As we move forward, one thing that won’t change is how we want this space to feel, quiet, private, and a place you can come to step away for a bit.

That being said, we’d love your help.

If you’ve spent time here, we’d love to hear what your experience has been like. Sharing your routine, your reset, or even just how the space made you feel can help others understand what this place offers.

Sometimes people just need to hear it from someone else.

We wanted to introduce Darcie, who has recently started taking massage clients here at The Healing Oasis.

She’s been settling into the space and getting into her first round of sessions. Darcie is a recent graduate from a local massage therapy program and has also spent time learning under local massage therapist Erika Bier, continuing to build her skills through hands-on experience and guidance.

Her background is rooted in movement and the outdoors, from hiking and backpacking to time spent working on a boat in Alaska, which shaped her interest in how the body moves and recovers.
That interest led her into massage therapy, where she focuses on helping people ease tension, move more comfortably, and take time to reset.

You may also recognize her as a local barista, it’s always nice to see familiar faces carry over into the space here!!!

Massage appointments with Darcie are now available to book through our app or online.

Sauna time might be one of the simplest ways to slow down and support your body.

At The Healing Oasis, we offer two private infrared saunas designed for relaxation, recovery, and intentional time to reset. Infrared heat gently warms the body, helping to support circulation, ease muscle tension, and encourage full-body relaxation.

Some of our guests use sauna sessions after workouts, others come in to unwind after a long day, and many just need a quiet space to breathe and decompress.

We offer flexible session times from 10 to 60 minutes, making it easy to fit into your day, all in a private, calming setting at a price that stays accessible.

If you’ve been thinking about trying it, this is a good place to start. This is just a recovery tool for your toolbox!

See comments for booking options.

Although we’re hosting the Holistic Wellness Fair out at the 4-H Grounds Saturday April 18th, The Healing Oasis will still be open on Main Street for Ladies Day Out!!!!

We’ll have sales on retail and clothing up to 50% off!!

It’s also a good chance to see the space, learn more about our services, and get a feel for what we offer. With updates and additions coming in 2026–2027, this is also a chance to see the spa as it is now before those changes begin.

Can't wait to see you all!

Things are coming together at The Healing Oasis (formerly The Float Spa)

Over the past few months, we’ve been working behind the scenes on a full rebrand, and it’s all starting to take shape. A new scheduling system, updated logo, a refreshed website, and small changes throughout the space that are already making a difference.

We’re also welcoming a new massage therapist, adding new equipment, and continuing to build out services in a way that feels intentional for our community.

It’s been a steady process, and there’s still more to come. We’re excited for what 2026 will bring and grateful to have you all along for it.

April 18th has a lot going on around Mitchell!!

Ladies Day Out will be happening downtown, and the Holistic Wellness Fair will be out at the 4-H Grounds from 10–4.

If you’re already out shopping or grabbing coffee on Main Street, it’s an easy swing over to the fairgrounds to check out the vendors there too. Or start at the fair and head back into town after.

It’s one of those days you can just move around, stop where you want, and make it what you want.

We’ll be out at the Wellness Fair all afternoon, and the gallery reading with Dani Jo will be at 7 PM if you’re planning to stay later.
