BREAKING : LOOK UP TONIGHT The Moon Meets Venus and the Pleiades! 🌙 ✨
Tonight, April 18, 2026, is indeed the peak of a spectacular celestial gathering featuring the crescent Moon, the planet Venus, and the Pleiades (Seven Sisters) star cluster. This trio is visible in the western sky shortly after sunset.
🔠What’s happening:
• A bright crescent moon will appear near dazzling Venus (the "evening star"), with the bluish Pleiades star cluster nearby.
• This is called a conjunction/appulse — the Moon won't block the cluster, but they’ll be near each other visually.
• In some parts of the world, the Moon may even briefly occult (pass in front of) some of the cluster’s stars earlier in the night.
🌍 Where to see it:
• This event is visible from much of the world after sunset, weather permitting.
• Look toward the western sky after sunset to catch this beautiful pairing.
📌 Tips for viewing:
A pair of binoculars or a small telescope will make the Pleiades easier to see near the Moon’s glow.
The Pleiades, also known as the “Seven Sisters”, are a bright bluish cluster in the Ta**us constellation.
Fun fact: Ancient cultures often linked the Moon‑Pleiades alignments with seasonal changes and the arrival of spring.
If you miss it tonight, the Moon will move even closer to the Pleiades tomorrow evening, April 19, appearing directly between the cluster and Venus for another spectacular view.
