This is the official page for the Moberly, MO Animal Shelter. Welcome and please read the RULES of the page. We’re a City Dog Pound, and we ask that you follow a few simple rules while you’re here:

2. Please treat everyone, including our employees, and followers with courtesy. No name-calling, vulgar language, or poor behavior. Please don’t post spam, advertising or off-topic posts. Obey Facebook’s terms and conditions.


3. We understand that opinions may differ regarding breed standards, rules, practice policies or procedures. Please keep comments positive and productive, and reflect responsible pet ownership.


4. Please represent yourself truthfully. No fake profiles or false organizations.

5. Our main goal is to find loving homes for dogs that are left behind and to care for them in the best way possible while they are under our care. Please share our posts so lost dogs can be reunited and those not claimed can find new homes. The Moberly Pound is also Animal Control. The staff members help both Humans and Animals and also run, clean, and adopt animals to new loving home. All dogs adopted from this facility are FULLY vetted including HW Test and Microchip as added care. We serve the City Limits of Moberly ONLY. When a dog is picked up as a stray it is put on 5 Day Stray Hold. This hold period is per the Department of AG Guideline, after the hold period ends the dog becomes the property of the animal shelter. The HOUNDS Program (This program is for SHELTER DOGS ONLY and is not available to the general public- All dogs entering this program are Spayed/ Neutered, Up-To-Date on all their shots and Flea/ Tick/ Worm Medicine, Heartworm Tested & Micro-Chipped and sent to the Moberly Correctional Center to be taught Basic Obedience by the Inmates. The Program is 8 Weeks Long. How to Reclaim Your Dog:
We ask that you bring a Collar And Leash of your own when when you come to claim a lost dog or adopt a dog. You will also need to bring CASH OR CHECK for the impound fees along with a copy of your drivers license and Proof of Ownership ( Vet Records in your name) The impound fee is $25.00 initial intake then $8.00 per day for each day the dog is here. After 5 days the dog becomes the property of the animal shelter and will be adopted out.

We are aware of the dog across the drive from the shelter. Did someone dump him and leave those bowls there or Did someone stop and feed him???

If you dumped him please come catch him for us he is terrified, we will take him and find him a a good home no questions asked.

If you stopped to feed him thank you!

We ask at this time for people to be cautious of him while we attempt to trap him, with this we also ask that you do not stop and feed him or call him as he has stranger danger and will just run and bark at you.

Our Story

Moberly Animal Shelter is both the Shelter and Animal Control. The Shelter provides services for dogs within the city limits of Moberly, MO.

Staff members care for the dogs that are currently in the shelter along with catching dogs that have wandered too far or have been left to fend on their own, we also handle neglect and abuse cases.
