When you see a child screaming in a store,
you might think tantrum.
But maybe the air conditionerās too loud.
Maybe the tag on his shirt feels like fire.
Maybe heās scared and canāt tell anyone why.
When you see a boy running barefoot down the street,
you might think heās being wild.
But maybe he doesnāt understand whatās dangerous.
When you see a teenager flapping his hands,
you might think heās strange.
But maybe itās how he stays grounded in a world that doesnāt make sense.
When you see a mom carrying her 12-year-old out of a restaurant,
you might think sheās lost control.
But maybe her child just reached his limit.
When you see a child hit or bite,
you might think heās violent.
But maybe heās terrified.
Maybe itās the only way he knows to say stop.
When you see a quiet kid at the park who doesnāt answer your childās āhi,ā
you might think heās rude.
But maybe heās nonverbal.
Maybe heās trying.
Autism isnāt always visible.
But itās always there
in the moments you donāt understand.
Look closer.
Lead with grace.
Youāll never regret being kind.
