✨Presentation highlight✨ Meet Claudia Stephens, a fourth year medical student at the Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama and USA SRFC Fundraising Coordinator. Claudia presented her research on protocols for fundraising in a free clinic setting at the . Claudia was the architect of our First SRFC Annual 5k race last year and is currently planning another 5k for this January! Our clinic is supported by fundraising and the generosity of our donors and patrons. Claudia has done a wonderful job fundraising for our patients and has helped increase our ability to provide care for our patients!

Emily is a wonderful clinician and has helped reorganize our clinic to help more of our patients get supplies they need. Emily’s efforts in establishing protocols for common ailments we see in clinic has helped us provide better, faster care for our patients!

We have multiple positions open for the upcoming year and are excited to welcome students across ALL disciplines to apply. Applications close November 24 at 11:59 pm. If you have any questions about any of the roles, please feel free to email us at srfc@southalabama.edu.

USASRFC is a student-led initiative with the purpose of enhancing wellness amongst underserved populations in Mobile, Alabama. Through the USASRFC, students across multiple health and social science disciplines collaborate to empower patients through health education, the promotion of health literacy, and improving access to community health resources. USASRFC is a wonderful organization that is continually expanding to have a larger impact within our community, and we want empowered students to help lead this organization to continue to increase our positive impact on the community.

Photos from our Food As Medicine Initiative! We hosted a Grocery Store Learning event at Wal-Mart where we walked aisle to aisle and pointed out healthy, affordable meals. We also talked about healthy recipes and how to read food labels… all while we picked out healthy snacks for later!
