Let's Talk Mental Health - Adolescent and Adult Attention Seeking Behaviors.
Childhood attention-seeking behaviors manifesting into adulthood, such as tantrums or dramatic outbursts often stem from unmet emotional needs, neglect, or learned, reinforced behavioral patterns in juvenile development.
These attention-seeking patterns can manifest in adults as chronic, disruptive, and manipulative, behaviors that can include excessive drama, Clinginess, fishing for compliments, feigning for attention, inability to self-regulate, controlling behaviors, attempts to illicit sympathies, exaggerated illnesses, or volatile behaviors and mood swings.
From juvenile development to adult coping mechanisms, these behaviors are symptomatic from unresolved childhood trauma, low self-esteem, or underlying mental health conditions such as, borderline, narcissism, and histrionic personality disorder.
