Vets Recover

Vets Recover Our mission is to remove barriers to care, deliver quality integrated health care, and build a better community through recovery and connection.

Our programs serve the unique needs of Service Members, Veterans, First Responders, and their families. They may be home, but their battle rages on. With their memory. With their traumas. With themselves. One veteran in four suffers from serious mental health issues, often turning to drugs, alcohol, and even suicide to end their pain. Yet now there’s a place they can turn before it’s too late: Veterans Recovery Resources, a new community-based mental wellness program that’s designed for the specific needs of veterans—regardless of their ability to pay. With the help of empathic, specially-trained professionals, veterans can quickly begin the road back to healthier and more meaningful lives.

We were thrilled to welcome the young adults from the Project Inspire Program to Vets Recover here in Mobile, AL!

Moments like these remind us how powerful community involvement can be. When we come together—sharing stories, learning from one another, and offering support—we build stronger connections that make a real difference in the fight against mental health challenges and addiction.

Thank you to Project Inspire for partnering with us in this mission.

Together, we’re helping build a healthier, more resilient community—one step at a time. 💙

This past weekend our very own Kent Davis and Jared Sunsdahl had the opportunity to visit Bradford Health in Warrior Alabama. Bradford's Warrior Location provides addiction treatment, resources, and community for every stage of the recovery journey. Alabama continues to rank near the bottom in Mental Health Care and Addiction Treatment and it is only through working together that we can begin to win this battle. A very special thank you to Katie Gramling and Roy Ramsey with Bradford Health for arranging and leading this visit.

Yesterday we had the honor of welcoming representatives from the Mobile County Sheriff's Office - Warden Pat Michell and Deputy Warden Russell Mitchell - to Vets Recover.

We are sincerely grateful for their time and willingness to visit and learn more about our mission and the work being done here each day. Their presence reflects a shared interest in finding better ways to support our veterans who are currently navigating challenges within the system.

At Vets Recover, we believe meaningful change begins by getting to the root of the problem. When agencies and community organizations come together with a common purpose, it opens the door for hopeful future collaboration focused on intervention, restoration, and long-term success.

This visit was an important first step, and we are encouraged by the opportunity to continue conversations about how we can work together to better serve the men and women who have served our country.

Thank you again for taking the time to learn about our mission and for your commitment to our veterans and to making a difference.
