Gulf Coast Men’s Story Weekend

In a time of deep cultural polarization, there’s never been a more important moment to engage your personal story with care and intention.

I’m offering another immersive weekend retreat designed to help men work through their formative stories in a supportive, attuned environment. Our last two retreats were powerfully transformative for those who attended.

In a group setting, we’ll explore how early stories shape the way we relate to others, how we view ourselves, and how these patterns can lead to dysfunction in our lives. This kind of intensive work often brings the kind of growth and insight that might take six months in individual therapy.

The retreat will be co-facilitated by myself and Chris Inman. I bring 16+ years of experience as a trauma therapist and facilitator with The Allender Center. Chris is a trauma-informed recovery coach (PSAP) with a strong background in story work and men’s retreats.

-All meals, lodging, and materials are included.
-The retreat has a spiritual orientation.
-This is not a replacement for therapy, but serves as a powerful supplement to personal growth or therapeutic work.

I wanted to share that I’m offering another experiential weekend focused on helping men work through their formative stories. Our last retreat was well attended and deeply impactful for the men that participated.
In a group context, we'll explore how these stories impact their styles of relating interpersonally, ways of thinking and feeling about themselves, and how this contributes to dysfunctional behavior patterns. I have found that participating in this type of intensive retreat offers tremendous support to an individual therapy process. For many men this work accomplishes therapeutically what would take approximately 6 months to achieve through individual sessions. This experience utilizes the strength of masculine connection to promote relational and emotional growth with other men.
This retreat will be facilitated by myself and Chris Inman. I've been a trauma therapist for 15 years and I’m a facilitator for The Allender Center that focuses on engaging formative stories. Chris is a trauma-informed recovery coach (PSAP) and has extensive experience doing story work and men's weekends.
Meals, lodging and all materials are included in the cost. Please note, this retreat will have a spiritual orientation. It is not group therapy or a replacement for individual therapy, but does work nicely as an adjunctive personal growth process. We will not find restoration of our wounds until we are able to return to the particular moments of wounding with kindness toward our younger selves, engaging, grieving, and blessing all of the complexity that comes with our memories.

As we prepare for Thanksgiving and all that it holds – the goodness and grief of gathering with family and friends, the ache of missing loved ones, and reminders of the things for which we are thankful – may we remember that we are meant to hold both gratitude and grief together. It's complex, and it's not one or the other. So let us all hold space at the table this holiday weekend for that complexity.
