Brian Persing, M.D., a nationally recognized oncologist and hematologist, is returning to USA Health in May to become director of the Mitchell Cancer Institute. Last week at the Mobile City Council meeting, Mayor Cheriogotis read a proclamation recognizing the patients, families, and caregivers impacted by cholangiocarcinoma — the rare, lethal cancer of the bile ducts.

There is currently no cure for this cancer, but increased advocacy, awareness, research and education will bring improved outcomes for patients through earlier detection and treatment. Thank you to USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute for joining us. 💚
