Today, Gracie from OsteoStrong Hillcrest had the honor of attending the Walk Against Eating Disorders at the University of South Alabama đ
Eating disorders and rapid weight loss donât just affect what we see on the outside â they can have serious effects on bone health over time. When the body is under-fueled or experiencing significant weight loss, it often begins to conserve energy by slowing or suppressing important hormone production. This can lead to decreased bone mineral density, putting individuals at greater risk for osteopenia, osteoporosis, and even stress fractures.
Bone loss can happen quietly, without symptoms, making prevention and early intervention so important.
That is why itâs imperative to do specific exercises that effectively and safely grow healthy bone like osteogenic loading.
