Update on people helping people!

Thank you all within our communities who came forward and answered this call for HELP!

Amazing!!

Stop and read.

Late Monday afternoon we had an urgent post about a specific formula needed for a Davie County girl named Jessalee. She is allergic to all but ten foods. With the baby formula shortage, she can’t get the one formula she needs to survive. Her mom reached out, a post was published (here >> https://tinyurl.com/Jessalee3MKs) and WITHIN TWO HOURS, you guys came through.

“I reached out in desperation,” said mom Jessi Whitesides. “The outpouring was amazing. People started contacting me to help get Jessalee her formula. I went from worrying about how to feed my daughter, to how to thank everyone. With everything coming in because of that post, we should have 27 cans coming in. Enough to feed Jessalee for a month, if not more!”

Jessi said she found out from talking with WIC that the shortage on Neocate Junior Unflavored formula will last three more months before it's consistently available. So, the gifts you guys gave—not only promised but actually drove to the town of Advance in Davie County and delivered—is amazing.

“The morning after your post we received 16 cans from one parent named Miranda,” said Jessi. “She’s in Gaston County and her husband delivered them. Her story is not mine to tell, but it’s a special one. Another woman named Julie, also in Gaston County, has some cans we’re planning to pick up later this week. And Debi, Melissa, Leigh, Christy, and Martha sent cans from Amazon or eBay. I am keeping track of all their names and what they’re doing for my daughter. Their kindness and generosity is remarkable. Thank you, thank you all so much.”

Jessi says our post even reached the UK. She had people reaching out to others in England to see if they could help.

“Without all this kindness, I know we’d be having a feeding tube placed in my daughter,” she said. “She also lives with autism and can’t just “switch” formula because of severe sensory issues. The fact multiple people donated, found, ordered, or delivered this formula is mind-blowing. Jessalee won’t need a feeding tube. We can keep going.”

Love you guys. Love this page. Love .

🔥🔥POSTED FOR A FRIEND OF VVIC:

✅ Let’s get behind this Veteran’s family in some serious need:

Good morning all .

I have something I wanted to share to see if you all can repost and see if we can help this Veteran and his daughter . Lee Whitesides , Veteran and retired Lieutenant with the Davie Sheriff’s Dept . He and his wife Jessi need our help .

Formula of all things had become horribly hard to find . Their daughter with special needs must have this particular formula due to her health issues and allergies .

As a lot of us know, like many other needs that cant get it through their insurance.

They are having to result in looking online like eBay and Amazon or an individual selling it .

It’s EXPENSIVE !!!

Would it be possible to spread info to help this family ?

Hi, I am Jessi. I am Jessalee's mom. Ever since this formula crisis we cannot get J… Jessi Whitesides needs your support for Please help get Jessalee formula

🇺🇸🇺🇸Today we say THANK YOU to our Vietnam veterans.

Did you know between 1964-1973 there were 3,403,000 Americans deployed to SE Asia.

I have actually never met a larger group of veterans who say, “I didn’t earn that” or “I don’t deserve that” or “My other buddies had/have it worse” when it comes to either A. me thanking them or B. me telling them that they should look into being “rated” for their ailment/disease.

(These Veterans do NOT EVEN need to show that they were exposed to Agent Orange or other herbicides in order to get disability compensation!)

💔

Yes it was said by Nixon that it was the most misunderstood event in US history.

HOWEVER..that does not negate the fact they put the uniform on & fought for their country. In NASTY SWAMP conditions. 52,448 died for their country. Millions currently manage or fought off cancer, diabetes, heart disease, hypothyroidism, Parkinson’s and MORE because of the agent orange they breathed in FOR THEIR COUNTRY😣😩😩

(See below reference in comments for VA benefits)

Lets recognize our Vietnam veterans today, okay!? 🙌👇👇👇🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Do you pay attention to your breathing?

Your mind and emotions play a key role in your health.

You don’t need a lot of time to begin practicing.

You can practice being mindfully aware at different times throughout your day (in line at the grocery store, during your commute, while talking with coworkers or friends).

If you are interested in a guided mindfulness meditation practice but are short on time, consider the three-minute breathing space meditation.

In the three-minute breathing space meditation, there are three steps: 1) Becoming aware and noticing what your experience is right now, 2) Directing attention to the breath and the sensations of the breath, and 3) Expanding awareness beyond your breath to also notice sensations of the body.

Ready to give it a try?

Join Dr. Brandon Yabko, program director of the Mindfulness Center at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System, in this three-minute breathing space meditation.👇👇

There are apps on phone, too. Picture in below comments.

A short mindful meditation practice.
