What is a Gestational Carrier (surrogate)? A Gestational Carrier (surrogate) carries a fetus, not related genetically, through pregnancy and gives birth to a baby for another person or couple. The reason the baby is not genetically related to you is because your eggs are not used to create the embryo. A surrogate becomes pregnant by a painless procedure called in vitro fertilization (IVF). The IVF process is when the s***m and egg from either the intended parent(s) or a donor are combined outside of the body in a laboratory. One or more fertilized embryos are transferred into the surrogate's uterus, where they may implant in the uterine lining and develop into a pregnancy. IVF is how you can become a surrogate even if your tubes have been tied! What are the qualifications to become a surrogate? To be considered as a surrogate with Babytree Surrogacy, you must meet all the following minimum requirements:
✅ Be a US citizen or a Permanent Resident living in a surrogacy-friendly state
✅ Be 21-38 years of age
✅ Have a Body Mass Index between 19-32 (I can help you figure out your number)
✅ Have had previous healthy pregnancies with no delivery complications
✅ Have had no more than 5 prior deliveries
✅ Have had no more than 2 prior c-sections
✅ Must not be receiving any type of government assistance
✅ Have no prior illegal drug use or possession charges for you and/or your partner
Also, you must agree to stop smoking to***co, ma*****na, and va**ng once you apply & continue throughout the pregnancy. What is the compensation for a surrogate with Babytree Surrogacy? The base compensation for a surrogate living in California is $50,000. You will also receive additional compensation for procedures and bonuses which can total your compensation to up to $80,000. Surrogates living in the following US states will receive a base compensation of $45,000 plus additional compensation for procedures and bonuses:
Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia (DC), Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia. Unfortunately, we are currently not able to match surrogates who live outside of the United States or due to individual state laws, surrogates living in Louisiana, Michigan, or Nebraska. In addition to your compensation, we offer competitive incentives such as:

What is to be expected of a surrogate with Babytree Surrogacy?
✅ The first step in the journey is to apply online at www.babytreesurrogacy.com/apply-now if you meet all the minimum requirements.
✅ We will then reach out to you and schedule a time to go over your application, discuss our generous compensation and benefits package, answer any questions you may have, and provide you with documents to sign to begin the process.
✅ We will request your previous pregnancy records from your physician and ask you to contact them to make an appointment to complete a PAP smear (if not done within the last 2 years).
✅ Once we have all your documents, we will match you with intended parents that share your same desires and expectations and arrange a video chat for you both to get to know one another and consider if you would like to move forward with each other.
✅ Once matched, we will send your medical records to the IVF clinic to be reviewed and determine if you can move forward in the surrogacy process. If approved, they will contact you to schedule a physical evaluation. We will also arrange for you to speak to a licensed psychological specialist to evaluate and verify if you are suitable to become a surrogate.
✅ If all goes well, we will move onto the legal process. You will be provided with legal assistance. Attorney's will draft the contracts, have them notarized, and send copies to both parties to review, sign, and return for legal clearance.
✅ The clinic will schedule an appointment for you to come in to receive your medications and potential embryo transfer date.
✅ You will be required to attend all scheduled OB visits for monitoring throughout your pregnancy and stay in regular contact with us. If you are matched with an international parent(s), they will arrive in the US one week before your due date. If for some reason they are not able to be there at the time of delivery, a Power of Attorney will be there as a substitute to receive the baby on their behalf.
