Doc’s desire was to provide great veterinary care to the surrounding dairy and horse community. Doc Moody retired in 1999 turning over the reins to Dr. Kipp Magnussen. Sylvan Veterinary Hospital continued to grow its reputation as a one of the premier veterinary hospitals in Stanislaus county. By 2006, SVH had completely outgrown it hospital and a new modern facility with new technologies were added to provide state of the art services in veterinary care for the community. At that time, Dr. Tiffany Hart and Ms. Vicky Shackelford partnered with Dr. Magnussen to help build one of the finest, veterinary hospitals in the area

Our Story

Dr. Ken “Doc” Moody started Sylvan Veterinary Hospital as a mixed animal practice out of a little farmhouse in 1972. Sylvan Veterinary Hospital continued to grow its reputation as a one of the premier veterinary hospitals in Stanislaus county. By 2006, SVH had completely outgrown it hospital and a new modern facility with new technologies were added to provide state of the art services in veterinary care for the community. At that time, Dr. Tiffany Hart and Ms. Vicky Shackelford partnered with Dr. Magnussen to help build one of the finest, most compassionate, and friendly team of doctors and nurses in the Central Valley.
