We are extremely happy to announce that we have reopened our office for regular patient care as of May 11th, 2020! We are now back to our traditional hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday and Wednesday through Friday. To accommodate patient needs, we will continue extended hours on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until 7:00 PM. During this Covid-19 period our office will be closed the lunch from 12:30 until 1:30 daily. On Tuesday, the closure will be from 1:30 – 2:30.
As we navigate the new normal, the health and safety of our patients and staff remain our top priority. To ensure we achieve that priority, we have implemented and are carefully following the social distancing guidelines as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Optometric Association (AOA) reopening guidelines to protect our patients and staff. The new normal will include these safety measures:
• Upon arrival for your appointment, please call our office to begin the curbside check-in process, which will include COVID-19 screening questions. A staff member will then meet you at the door to check your temperature using a non-contact thermometer.
• The doctors and staff will be wearing masks for your safety and protection, and we ask all patients to wear a mask/cloth face covering as well. If you do not have a mask, you will be provided one to wear while in office.
• The use of hand sanitizer will be provided as you enter the office.
• If you require support during your appointment, please limit to one companion such as a parent, guardian, or caretaker.
• Viewing frames is a huge part of the optical experience, and we have been working with major manufactures to come up with solutions to safely maintain that experience. Our opticians have been trained on how to properly sanitize our frames before and after every use. If you would like to view frames, simply ask one of our staff members and we’d be more than happy to assist you.
• Lastly, if you are not feeling well, please call us and we will gladly reschedule your appointment to a later date.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time. We are monitoring the ongoing situation very closely, and will update you as more information becomes available.
We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Hinkley Optometric! Stay safe and stay healthy!
