Our Sierra Vista Mentoring Program had a wonderful time at the Modesto Police Department Annual Modesto Police Canine Association Toy Drive! Community members from Modesto and nearby towns came together to donate toys for students in our mentoring program within Modesto City Schools and across our agency. Many people who donated toys brought their dogs along, which made the event even more fun.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize the event and generously donated to the youth we serve. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

We’re grateful to Vallarta Supermarkets for supporting families in need during the Federal Government shutdown. This week, many of our community members have not had access to their CalFresh dollars, and now many of them have Vallarta gift cards to support their families.

At Vallarta, one of their core commitments is to support and uplift the local communities they serve, and Sierra Vista is proud to work alongside them.

Due to the federal government shutdown, over 90,000 Stanislaus County residents have lost access to CalFresh (SNAP) benefits as of November 1. These are our neighbors – families, seniors, veterans, and college students. Local food pantries are already seeing a surge in need, and they need your help.

- Donate canned goods, shelf-stable items, and holiday foods
- Make a financial contribution to help buy food in bulk
- Coordinate a canned food drive at your business or place of worship
Let’s show up for our neighbors. Every can, every dollar, every share makes a difference.

We’re here to help. As the Federal Government shutdown continues, CalFresh benefits have not been issued to California residents beginning November 1.

Our Story

Sierra Vista Child & Family Services has been helping abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children and families in crisis in California’s Central Valley since 1972. We do this through a series of integrated programs that include mental health services, early childhood services, special education, therapeutic residential treatment, adoption, foster care, clinical and family support in homes and schools, perinatal substance abuse treatment and community counseling. Our goal is to provide access to quality programs and services that make a difference to a child, their family, and the entire community.
