Is this your 1st acupuncture treatment? I thought I would post the brochure I provide my new patients. Written by me with a little help from my former career as a public school teacher, this brochure contains information that is easy to understand for someone who arrives at our but without previous experience or knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This is not meant to be an explanation of TCM theory - especially since my current practice at Boomerange Healthcare (Integrated Pain Management) focuses on pain management. It's meant to help new patients undertand how it will help and allay apprehension.

No one, not even my supervisor, knew that I have a doctorate

CRPS & Mirror treatment (literally) - Sharing a successful treatment at Boomerang Health Care: A patient with CRPS (Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome): I applied mirror/balance method with an actual mirror to trick the brain into thinking the opposing (afflicted) appendage was being needled. In 2 minutes, patient felt in the afflicted hand tingling occur in the palmar side, warmth return to the whole hand (prior infrared lamp), pain stopped, and movement begin in the fingers. Her shoulders relaxed, her voice cleared (her throat felt a closed off), and all the facial muscles that had been tense relaxed. After removing needles, these sensation continued. Patient unexpectedly used the affected hand to reach for her glove which she no longer uses for reaching and holding
