We have a MAJOR and disturbing update in the case of Sydnee Graf, the Kentucky 5th-grade math teacher, who was arrested back in December for having s*xually explicit conversations with a 5th grade student and then trying to meet up with him.

She is now back in custody and facing new felony charges, including:

• R**e of a child under 12
• So**my of a child under 12
• Unlawful transaction with a minor under 16

These charges were filed this week in Jefferson County Court, according to court documents obtained by People. Her bond has been set at $500,000.

As a reminder of how this started:
Police say the investigation began after Jefferson County Public Schools contacted law enforcement about the exploitation of a juvenile by a teacher. Investigators obtained messages allegedly showing explicit s*xual conversations between Graf and a 5th-grade student, including graphic s*xual language.

Court records say she arranged to meet the child on December 15, arrived at the location, and was arrested by waiting officers. After being read her Miranda rights, she allegedly admitted to the conversations. A search of her vehicle reportedly uncovered hydrocodone and Adderall.

She was initially charged in December with procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means and drug possession, released, and is now re-arrested following the filing of these more serious charges.

The case is expected to go before a grand jury early next week.
