GiGi's Playhouse Quad Cities Down Syndrome achievement center providing free educational and therapeutic programs for individuals with Down syndrome (all ages).

GiGi's Playhouse is a one-of-a-kind achievement center for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community. GiGi's Playhouse offers therapeutic and educational programs that advance literacy, math skills, motor skills and more; all of which are free of charge.

If you’ve followed us for a while, you know that as a 100% privately funded organization, our wish list is a meaningful way for supporters to make a direct impact. It’s updated regularly on Amazon and includes items needed for our programs, events, and day-to-day operations at the Playhouse.

The first team to be highlighted for today’s is our favorite spirit coach, Christy!

Christy is known for her love of the Sherrard Tigers and can often be found cheering them on throughout the year at games and activities. When she’s not showing her Tiger pride, you’ll find her here at GiGi’s participating in Achievers, Fantastic Friends, Group Adult Speech, and so much more.
You may have seen her recently highlighted on a blog for her participation in her literacy tutoring sessions! She is always ready to give her best in all she does, AND she gives the best hugs too!

Soon, our front area will be filled with blue pinwheels 💙

We are proud to once again partner with EveryChild to host a pinwheel garden throughout the month of April in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Pinwheels represent the joy, playfulness, and innocence of childhood—something every child deserves to experience.

Sadly, children with disabilities are nearly four times more likely to experience abuse or neglect, and more than three times more likely to experience sexual abuse compared to their peers. This is why raising awareness and advocating for prevention is so important to us.

We will “plant” 21 pinwheels in honor of our friends with an extra 21st chromosome—but our message goes beyond that. Every child deserves a safe, happy, and supported childhood.

Child abuse is 100% preventable. Together, we can make a difference.
