We are so proud to share that Tom N. recently represented Good Shepherd Manor at a Special Olympics fundraiser hosted by Jersey Mike’s Subs in Bourbonnais! 💙

As part of Jersey Mike’s annual Month of Giving, this special event helps raise funds and awareness for athletes of all abilities—supporting opportunities to train, compete, and shine. 

Tom did an incredible job representing GSM, showing the spirit, enthusiasm, and pride that make our community so special. We are grateful for opportunities like this that highlight inclusion and celebrate the abilities of those we serve.

Way to go, Tom! We are proud of you! 👏

Even though March has passed, the message of Disability Awareness Month continues to shine at Good Shepherd Manor. 💙

Our days are always full, but taking time to recognize the abilities, strengths, and individuality of the men we serve is something we hold close year-round. This past month, our amazing staff created a poster that says it best: “We Are Able!”

And that’s exactly who we are—a community built on encouragement, inclusion, and celebrating each person’s unique gifts.

At Good Shepherd Manor, we don’t just recognize abilities in March—we celebrate them every single day.

The men had a wonderful time celebrating throughout the week with traditional egg coloring, festive activities, and plenty of smiles along the way.

We’d also like to recognize the incredible creativity and dedication of our Community Day Program staff. From planning engaging activities to beautifully decorating classrooms, hallways, bulletin boards, and doors—they truly bring the spirit of the season to life for everyone here.

Paul and Vicky were kind enough to join their relative Tim here at Good Shepherd Manor for a makeshift Holy Thursday/Easter service for the residence at our wonderful institution. God bless Kristen Stockle and the gang for taking care of all of the holy souls!!!

By the way, we were not smart enough to remember the words to “The King of Glory” so we had Br. Charles and Br. Alfonsus from New Mexico. Help us sing along! The problem is Br. Charles forgot to bring his guitar so we were off key…

A big thank you to KVTA for hosting a group of the men from Good Shepherd Manor for last week’s performance of Footloose Jr.! 🎭

They had such a wonderful time and were talking about the show for days afterward! We are grateful for the opportunity for them to enjoy such a fun and memorable outing. Thank you, KVTA, for sharing your talents and hospitality with our community!
