✨️Employee Spotlight

Meet one of our dental assistants, Shannon!

Shannon joined our team here at Smith Mountain Dental Practice almost 10 years ago now! She is not only a veteran at dental assisting but is also a go-to team member when we face computer glitches, software updates and equipment failures! She can tackle any job! 💻💪

She graduated from Franklin County High School in 2008 and then earned a Bachelor's degree from Radford University in Social Work. When the company she worked for started to fade she sought new employment and applied here at SMLDP and we're so glad she did! 💯

When not at work, you can find Shannon spending time with her family, kayaking down a river, or jumping out of an airplane! 🛶 ✈️

Fun fact, she has a universal HVAC license!🛠👩‍🔧

What Shannon enjoys most about her job are the patients she meets and working with her fellow team mates.

Shannon, we are blessed that we found you 10 years ago! We adore the relationships that you've built with us and our patients! The amount of time you invest in our patient's care to ensure they understand and are well informed of treatment is an invaluable asset to them and our team! ✨️Employee Spotlight

Meet our newest employee, Courtney!

Courtney joined our team here at Smith Mountain Dental Practice as a dental assistant this year but she is not new to dentistry. She has over 6 years of experience as a dental assistant and like any great team member, she is always willing to jump and help the rest of the team!

She graduated from Staunton River High School in 2009 and then earned a degree in Medical Coding from VWCC. After starting her first job in medical coding, it didn't take long for her to discover that she needed a job working with people more than computers. Thankfully for us, a friend urged her try dental assisting, and she was instantly hooked!🎯

When Courtney isn't working at SMLDP you can find her spending time with her boys, off-roading on 4 wheelers, or floating somewhere here at SML.

Fun fact, she loves to bake sweet stuff and is always sharing it with us! 🍰🧁🎂

The one thing that Courtney enjoys most about her job is making her patients smile! 😁😁She loves meeting new people and making them feel comfortable in the dental chair.
