Activities like Play-Doh encourage kids to talk about what they’re making, describe colors and shapes, and practice new words as they create.

Play like this helps strengthen vocabulary, sentence building, and communication skills in a fun and natural way! ✨

Bonus: it’s also great for hand strengthening and developing fine motor skills!

Activity isn’t just play, it’s a powerful tool! 💪✨

Through movement and hands-on experiences, children build important skills like coordination, communication, motor development, and problem solving. Sometimes the most powerful therapy looks a lot like play! 🤍

What do school OTs really help with? 👀✨
More than you might think!

We help kids strengthen the small muscles in their hands, learn how to use both hands together, regulate their sensory needs, spend time building confident, readable handwriting, and so much more. It’s all about helping students succeed in school and beyond with confidence. 💛

If you’ve ever wondered whether OT could support your child at school, this is your sign to ask!

3 Easy Ways to Build Fine Motor Skills

👉 Roll, squeeze, and pinch play dough! You could even hide small toys inside and have your child dig them out. This can build hand strength + finger coordination!

👉 Have your child use kitchen tongs or large tweezers to pick up pom poms, cereal, or cotton balls. This strengthens their tripod grasp, which is the grip needed for writing!

👉 Give them scrap paper or old magazines to tear into strips, crumple into balls, or glue onto paper. This is great for hand muscles + bilateral coordination!

Save this for later and follow along for more simple ways to support your child’s development! 🤍

This month is all about love, and we can’t help but reflect on how much we truly love the kiddos who walk through our doors each week! 🫶

We get to see all the behind the scenes, the hard work, the frustration, the breakthroughs, and the sweet moments when something finally clicks.

The big milestones are amazing… but it’s the small, everyday victories that mean so much to us. Parents, thank you for trusting us with your little ones! We don’t take it lightly 🤍

We may be snowed in for a while, but that doesn’t mean learning has to stop! Snow days are the perfect chance for a little hidden therapy through play. ☺️❄️

🛷 Pulling a sled builds strength and coordination
⛄ Building a snowman works both sides of the body and motor planning
❄️ Scooping or shoveling snow gives calming “heavy work” input
🗣️ Talking through what you’re doing supports language and sequencing

It might just look like fun, but these little moments add up in big ways. Enjoy your snow days! 🤍

Here’s the cutest winter craft for your little ones! 🤗❄️

All you need are some pipe cleaners to form the snowflake shape and beads to thread on. These look sweet hung up on a tree or in a window, and they’re such a great fine-motor work out for little hands! 🖐
