Upcoming water safety ...

We are proud to offer from March 30 to April 2, teaching children essential water safety skills. 🏊‍♀️

The YMCA’s Safety Around Water program helps children learn how to stay safe in and around water. These skills build confidence and can save lives, making water safety one of the most important life skills a child can have.

Participants will learn benchmark skills such as jump, push, turn, grab, swim, float, swim, along with important water safety topics that help kids stay safe and enjoy the water with confidence.

Warming centers ...

Extreme low temperatures are expected today through Saturday, with daily highs reaching single digits and lows at or below zero.

Take precautions:
If you must be outside, dress in layers and wear gloves, waterproof boots, coat and a hat.
Limit time outside to avoid frostbite and hypothermia.
Stay dry - wet clothing can accelerate heat loss.
Drink warm fluids and avoid alcohol, which can lower body temperature.

Know the signs:
Frostbite: redness or pain, numbness, white or grayish skin, or skin that feels waxy or firm.
Hypothermia: shivering, confusion, slurred speech, and drowsiness.
