My approach always depends upon what works best for the individual or family. Models that I typically use include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. I am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is what I typically use when working with clients who have trauma symptoms. In my practice, the clients I work with come into therapy with a variety of symptoms and concerns that are interfering with their every day life. Some of the common symptoms I see are: depression, self-harming behaviors, anxiety, low self-esteem, numbing or detached feelings from others, and suicidal ideations. My job is to assist my clients with their symptoms by creating healthier coping skills, work on their thought/behavior patterns that are interfering, and process the emotions that they are experiencing.
