A few weeks ago, we were privileged to have Dr. DeShara Phenix speak with us about her journey to pharmacy ownership and her experience as a new pharmacy owner. Our students truly enjoyed her presentation and appreciated the candid conversation she shared about her path, challenges, and insights into independent pharmacy practice.

On Wednesday, September 24, the College of Pharmacy (COP) and student members of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) were delighted to welcome members of the NCPA Board of Directors to speak in-person at their general meeting!

Speaking were Dr. Kristen Riddle, NCPA President-Elect, and Dr. Drew Register, NCPA Director of Student Affairs and Professional Development. Dr. Register is also a proud ULM College of Pharmacy alumnus (Class of 2016)! 💛 🦅

This was an incredible opportunity to hear directly from national leaders in pharmacy, gain professional insight, and engage in meaningful discussion about the future of our profession.

On October 4th, members of LIPA partnered with Community Pharmacy to administer flu vaccines to VCOM students and faculty. The event was also in collaboration with ULM SNPhA.

On Sept 19th, LIPA members went to Walgreens to inform the public about how important it is to stay up to date with your vaccinations, and how pharmacists play a big role educating the public about the importance of getting vaccinated, as well as debunking any myths about vaccines.
