When we wrongly read the cues and behaviours of the baby because we are not aware of what the child can do developmentally, we can get very frustrated, even angry. Then our emotions get in the way of our relationship with the child, which is what we didn't intend at all. So if we remember that a baby cannot play you up, and you cannot spoil a baby (despite what some people will tell you), you and your baby will be off to a fine start.

I absolutely love this. Consent is real and teachable to the littles. Please start them young! Never force a child to give you/grandma/anybody a kiss or hug to appease the other person - no matter how offended that person may be. Teach children they have a right to their own bodies.
