The holidays can bring joy, and also stress, pressure, and emotional exhaustion. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone.

Here are a few ways to protect your peace this season:
✨ Set boundaries around time and energy
✨ Stick to routines that help you feel grounded
✨ Say no when you need to
✨ Make space for quiet moments, not just busy ones

Your mental health matters, especially this time of year.

Today, we’re taking a moment to reflect with gratitude for the people we serve, the community we’re part of, and the staff who show up with care and compassion every day.

The holidays mean different things to different people. Whether you're celebrating, resting, gathering, or simply getting through, we hope you find a moment of comfort or connection.

From all of us at MCMHA, Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations to November's Stars of the Month: Joy & Keri! 🌟

This month, we’re recognizing Keri Haines and Joy Baltrip as our Stars of the Month for their outstanding contributions to the launch of the Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC).

Keri and Joy have gone above and beyond to support this new program, bringing flexibility, teamwork, and a calm, compassionate presence to a brand-new environment. They stepped into the unknown with confidence, helped train fellow staff, and created a welcoming, responsive space for the consumers and families walking through the doors.

Thank you, Keri and Joy, for your leadership, your dedication, and the positive example you set every day. Your work is helping the BHUC thrive and making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

As the days get shorter and the sunlight fades, it’s normal to feel a shift in your energy or mood. But for some, that shift becomes something more.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a real form of depression that can show up as low motivation, changes in sleep, difficulty concentrating, or feeling withdrawn during the fall and winter months.

What might help:
☀️ Get outside during daylight hours
💡 Use a light therapy lamp in the morning
🧠 Stay connected to routines and people
💬 Reach out if things feel heavy

You don’t have to push through it alone. MCMHA is here to help.

Gratitude isn’t about ignoring what’s hard. It’s about making space to notice what’s still good.

Even small moments of appreciation can help ease stress, improve mood, and support emotional resilience. Gratitude is a simple, accessible way to care for your mental health, one thought at a time.

Try this today:

📝 Write down 3 things you're grateful for
💬 Share one with someone you trust
💚 Pause and notice how it feels

Your attention is powerful. Where you direct it matters.

Today is National Stress Awareness Day, a reminder to pause and check in with yourself.

Stress shows up in different ways—tense shoulders, racing thoughts, short tempers, sleepless nights. The good news? Small changes can help reduce daily stress and restore balance.

Here are a few things that help:
✅ Take a short walk
✅ Say no to one more task
✅ Breathe deeply for 60 seconds
✅ Talk it out with someone you trust

Need more support? We’re here.

Congratulations to September's Star of the Month: Jailin! 🌟

This month, we’re proud to recognize Jailin Burris as our Star of the Month for his outstanding work ethic and the positivity he brings to the MCMHA environment. Jailin is known not only for his dedication to keeping our spaces clean, safe, and welcoming, but also for the kindness and respect he shows to everyone he encounters.

Even while hard at work, Jailin always takes a moment to say hello, offer a kind word, and brighten someone’s day. It’s the little things he does, consistently and quietly, that make a big impact on the culture of care we strive for at MCMHA.

Thank you, Jailin, for all that you do. Your presence and positivity don’t go unnoticed, and we’re grateful to have you on our team!
