During the holidays people often decorate their loved one's memorials. Please remember that flocked or velvet artificial flowers and velvet ribbons can bleed and stain the granite. Artificial red poinsettias are especially prone to this. As a general rule, you should test your decorations by wetting them and then touching to a paper towel before using on your monument.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of engraving recipes for cookies, pies, and other beloved dishes that families were known for within their communities. In honor of Veterans Day, we would like to thank all who served in the armed forces for their service and sacrifice.

Veterans Day is observed every year on November 11th and evolved from Armistice Day, which was proclaimed by President Woodrow Wilson in 1919. Armistice Day recognizes the end of World War I, when fighting ceased at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month in 1918. After American involvement in World War II and the Korean War, Congress renamed it from Armistice Day to Veterans Day in 1954.

Earlier this month, our skilled team installed a beautifully designed 2-niche columbarium featuring a unique and heartfelt detail. In place of the traditional flower vase, a Jet Black granite heart was selected and engraved with intertwined wedding rings, a banner, and the couple’s wedding date, symbolizing enduring love and commitment.

As cremation continues to grow in popularity, Gaulden Monuments offers a wide range of customizable options to honor your loved one’s memory. Just like all our memorials, each columbarium can be tailored to reflect a personal legacy and create a meaningful tribute.

Last month, we had the distinct pleasure of hosting a BBQ "Thank You" luncheon for our granite quarry supplier who supplies our domestic granite. We take pride in maintaining a great working relationship with them and are especially proud to offer high quality granite made in the United States. We are proud to showcase our latest design of the vertical two-niche columbarium. Expertly crafted from gray granite, it measures 30" x 18" x 44" and features an elegantly contoured serpentine-style cap. Each niche is enclosed with a jet black granite door, and the interior dimensions of each niche measure 12" x 12" x 12".

The columbarium sits atop a distinctively shaped base that measures 30" x 18" x 6". Thoughtfully designed without a flower vase, this style is ideal for those looking for a clean, minimalist memorial with a timeless style.
