Meet Laura, our dedicated RMA and Phlebotomist, who has been part of our clinic family for two years.
She helps patients stay healthy by triaging, performing tests, reviewing medications, teaching how to use glucose meters and BP machines, and following up on care.
Laura joined CHSUC because it feels good to help the community and ensure patients get the resources they need. Her goal is for every patient to improve their health and understand the importance of taking care of themselves.
When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her playing with Simba, enjoying the outdoors, reading, or watching true crime shows.
Thank you, Laura, for your dedication and for helping our patients thrive!

Free Health Tip: Breathe through your nose, especially when you're active!

Nasal breathing filters and warms the air, but it also boosts nitric oxide, improving oxygen delivery and circulation. Mouth breathing, on the other hand, can raise stress levels and cause dehydration. Try closing your mouth during walks or light exercise - you'll feel calmer, clearer, and more focused in minutes!

Community Health Services Free Clinic hosted its “Rise and Dine” Breakfast Fundraiser on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe.

The morning highlighted the life-changing work of the free clinic through powerful patient testimonies and an inspiring keynote shared with a full room of supporters.

We are grateful for the generous sponsorship of Novant Health, Union Power Cooperative, and the many local businesses and community members who believe in our mission to serve the uninsured. This work is only possible because of the commitment of our sponsors, volunteers, donors, board members, and staff.
