Why now?? For the last month we have lost one person a week that I knew personally to an overdose and it breaks my heart! Everyone of them were sharp intelligent people, good people from good families who died way too early in life. I hate alcohol, drugs or any addiction that takes a life as collateral damage.
Why so many overdoses, because the heroine is not being cut any more due to the abundant supply. It is also being laced with fentanyl, that is not measured just dropped!
This is to give a stronger high so the dealer keeps his customers coming back. The first high can never be repeated with just heroine. Get this fentanyl is 100 times stronger than morphine and well over half the drug deaths were caused by fentanyl! Just a tiny drop will kill you in a matter of minutes! It constrict’s the lungs and suffocates. If strong enough it will explode the heart.
Over 70,000 drug overdoses in US last year! This does not count car accidents deaths while under the influence. Eye opener: compare it to around 19,000 murders, 40,000 vehicle deaths!
N C in 2017 was second highest overdose out of all states, thank goodness we lost that honor in 2018. 2019 not available yet!

I will be speaking and you have my personal word you will hear a word that can educate you, on how you can help bring those in darkness into the light. From a death pit to life that can grow into abundance.
Most Christians do not realize the written word of God has much to say about bo***ge, freedom and deliverance. I do not boast on me, but my Lord and Savior, who has allowed me to spend the last thirty five years of my life studying the written word and spending most of my time Ministering to the addicted.
Everyone is addicted to something, but we are concentrating on help for the life suffocating addictions. We are trying as well to educate the enabler’s, which some of you may be! Harder for most enabler’s to admit and quit most of the time, than it is for the addicted.
I also can assure you Addiction is progressive, aggressive and does not discriminate. It does not care
if you label it sin or disease.
Your success, nor status in the world cannot stop it from coming to your house. It has already touched you, your family, a friend or your next door neighbor.
How about stopping the denial and sticking your head in the sand thinking someone is gonna figure out the answer and fix this problem magically.
Aren’t you tired of tip toeing around not knowing what to say to your family and friends who have an addicted love ones, or even worse not understanding their loss of a love one.
If by chance you have not come face to face with the issue, how about paying higher taxes because of theft and also knowing you could be the next victim. They don’t steal because they are bad people, but the drug dealers don’t take credit cards or IOU’s. Our Courts are overrun, jails are full and all of them are not harden criminals! Many are just like you, and I, and they got hooked by a Doctor’s prescription and little by little the thief stole all they had and destroyed them and their families. Praise God they are not dead, but rescued so we can volunteer to share what we know with them.
Turn off the TV or tape your show and give us an hour and a half of your time with an open heart and mind and we will educate you on how you may save someone’s life.
I promise to be brief and then we will have small breakout sessions men with men, ladies with ladies where you can learn from each other by discussing what’s been said. It’s all confidential and you do not have to speak unless you desire to share!
Together and with God’s help we can change Union County! We will not ask you for any money!!
We cooperate and partner with any group fighting addiction issues in this county and surrounding counties to Mecklenburg. Anson, Stanley, York, Lancaster, Chesterfield, Gaston. We don’t have just an epidemic, but in my opinion a pandemic.
We have volunteers teaching and mentoring and recommending on a needs basis, detox centers, rehabilitation centers, both short term and long term. We have developed relations with them that they know when we tell them someone is ready, that the majority of the time they are. They are so overwhelmed they appreciate knowing folks are committed. Their goal is the same as ours, to help as many as possible. Most are Christian based with no charge or very little. By the time one recognizes they have lost control they have no insurance or money, but they need help and we try to supply good information and successful ministries suggestions.

This particular Ministry is in it’s thirteenth year and I can tell you we never dreamed the battle would turn into a war!
Safer Communities Ministry has been teaching Life Skills in the UC Jail for 34 years and I have been Blessed to be a part of this Ministry almost 20 years. We had a second chance Reentry program that lacked ability to continue to teach and mentor men coming out of jail. This was one of the biggest reason we started ARM.
Thirst Quenchers Ministry has two meetings in Monroe, one in Locust, and two in Lancaster SC. Ground40 Farm Ministry is 120 Discipleship training Free Ministry and showing great success. Both ministries are headed up by Wesley Keziah, who was saved under SCM Ministry and is now giving back to the community he use to steal from to support his addiction. Alex Fetterson and DJsturgis Fetterson started Anchor Ministry in Rock Hill modeled after ARM Ministry, Daryl Oliver started Set Free Ministries in Stanly Co modeled after ARM and Ernie Walters started Wellspring Ministry in Rockingham. All of these new starts mentioned have been in the last two years, so it’s oblivious God is speaking to folks to get up and out the pew or to turn their TV off and get in the fight!
