Laughter, focus, teamwork, and a little friendly competition — these have been some of our most popular games at KindCare recently!
From cup challenges and ball games to seated bowling and coordination activities, our participants have been staying active, engaged, and smiling all along the way. These games aren’t just fun — they help support:
✔️ Hand-eye coordination
✔️ Cognitive stimulation
✔️ Social connection
✔️ Gentle physical movement
Watching everyone cheer each other on, problem-solve together, and enjoy the moment reminds us why we do what we do 💜
At KindCare, every game is another opportunity to connect, move, and thrive — together.

The past couple of weeks at KindCareADHC have been full of activity, creativity, and joy—even with the amount of snow we’ve had for the first time in a long while ❄️
Although our services were briefly interrupted, we truly made the most of our time together.
We celebrated collective January birthdays and brought a favorite game show to life by adapting The Price Is Right in person. We split into men’s and women’s groups and used a fun ball-throwing game to determine who went first—whoever landed on the highest number got the first guess. Everyone participated, laughed, and had such a great time guessing prices and cheering each other on.
Our exercise sessions were just as fun. We “flew” with our hands and shared where we wanted to travel—responses included heaven, Hawaii, Colorado, Africa, Japan, and Europe. We even “rode horses,” letting our imaginations run wild while staying active.
It was truly an awesome time filled with movement, laughter, and connection 💙

“NC braces for a boom in seniors, but caregivers are already exhausted.”
— Charlotte Observer

📰 Article Summary (Charlotte Observer)

A recent article by the Charlotte Observer highlights a growing concern across North Carolina: while the senior population is expected to increase significantly in the coming decades — potentially doubling by 2050 — family caregivers are already struggling to cope.

📈 Aging Population in North Carolina
North Carolina’s older adult population is projected to grow rapidly in the years ahead, resulting in increased demand for senior care and support services statewide.

🤯 Caregiver Exhaustion
As the number of older adults rises, family caregivers are under intense pressure, often providing unpaid care at home while balancing jobs and family responsibilities. Many caregivers are already experiencing stress, burnout, and fatigue.

👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 Impact on Families
Additional reporting, including data from AARP, shows that millions of adults in North Carolina serve as family caregivers, often facing emotional, physical, and financial strain with limited support.

📊 The Bigger Picture
Like much of the country, North Carolina is facing caregiver shortages, rising care costs, and workforce challenges as demand for long-term care continues to grow.

💜 How KindCare Adult Day & Health Center Helps

This growing challenge is exactly why KindCare Adult Day & Health Center exists. We provide safe, structured daytime care for older adults — including meals, social engagement, and health support — while giving family caregivers the time they need to work, rest, and care for themselves. Adult day & health care offers a practical, affordable solution at a fraction of the cost of many other long-term care options, helping families avoid burnout and keep loved ones safely at home longer.

As North Carolina prepares for this demographic shift, KindCare ADHC is positioned and ready to be a helping hand for both seniors and the caregivers who support them every day.

✨ A Fresh Start at KindCareADHC ✨
We used our holiday closure to make a few updates to our space, and it has made a big difference. We widened our activity room and created a separate dining room to better support our participants and caregivers.
It has been one week since returning from vacation, and the change has already been noticed and appreciated by everyone. The added space has improved comfort, movement, and the overall daily experience at the center.
This week, our activities included music, bingo, art, in-house preaching and worship, outdoor walks for fresh air, and light exercise sessions.

Come visit us and be part of our community. We also offer free trial days, giving participants and caregivers the opportunity to experience our program, meet our staff, and see if KindCareADHC is the right fit before making a commitment.

Thank you for being part of the KindCareADHC community 💜.
