Congratulations to Paul Miller, Respiratory Therapist, for receiving the BEE (Be Exceptional Everyday) Award!

Paul was recognized by Jaiden Goebel, Emergency Department Nurse, for going above and beyond during a hectic day in the ED when he ensured a patient and spouse had the oxygen they needed for a safe trip home and even retrieving their car when they became disoriented in the parking lot.

As Jaiden Goebel shared: “This small action is one that did not go unnoticed and was much appreciated by not only the patient and their spouse, but by me as well. Paul shows up with a ready-to-work attitude with patient safety and satisfaction in mind. Paul, words cannot describe how meaningful these actions are!”

Join us on Monday, February, 23rd at 9:30 a.m. for Walk Into Wellness at the YMCA in partnership with SSM Health Monroe Hospital and Clinics! Alison DeVore will be discussing medication management what it can mean for your overall health.

This month’s focus is Medication Management—learn helpful tips to stay organized, understand your prescriptions, and take charge of your health with confidence.

Whether you’re managing multiple medications or just want to learn more, this session is a great step toward a healthier you. We hope to see you there! Registration is not required.

Go on, laugh a little! 😆 Laughter really is great medicine - it helps lower stress hormones and artery inflammation, while boosting our mood. In this week's Time for Kids: Recipe for Health story, News 3 Now / Channel 3000's Kyreon Lee stopped by a fifth grade class at Lincoln Elementary School in Madison for some silly story telling - and plenty of laughs.

Cindy Kopp, Surgical & Procedure Center registered nurse, was recognized on Friday for her compassionate care and courageous advocacy with a DAISY Award!

Cindy was nominated by a patient who shared how her compassion and preparation transformed their experience before a procedure as someone living with PTSD. The patient said Cindy “explained everything step-by-step,” helped identify triggers, and created a plan so they felt safe and supported from the moment they arrived.

“She was super nice and again took the time to explain everything,” they wrote, adding that Cindy made sure their mental health was “just as important as the physical health of the procedure.” They later described it as “by far the best” procedure experience they’ve ever had.

Congratulations, Cindy, and thank you for your exceptional dedication to healing and whole-person care!

There is still time to apply for our spring Club Scrub session! Club Scrub, a free after school program, is designed to introduce 8th grade students to a variety of healthcare careers through hands on activities and interactions with healthcare professionals. Sessions are on Wednesdays from March 11 to May 22 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.

Students will explore areas like the Emergency Department, Operating Room, ICU, Pharmacy, and more, with the program wrapping up with a graduation ceremony.
