Helping Hands PDHC offers a physician ordered multidisciplinary service for children that are medically fragile with special needs. We offer pediatric skilled nursing, PT, OT, ST and an age based curriculum as well as social worker and dietary services if needed. We work in conjunction with your child's doctor and other community organizations to ensure your child's needs are met. Our services are covered by Louisiana Medicaid and Bayou Health Plans. We also provided transportation to and from the facility daily. Our focus is to provide maximum early intervention with our multidisciplinary team to prepare children with medically complex needs for school and other life situations. We provide care for up to 10 hours a day that is based on learning through play and socialization to develop the skills needed to ensure proper growth and development. Our skilled pediatric nurses provide constant assessment of each child with vital signs, weights, lab draws, tube feedings, trach care, catheter care, injections and medication administration in order to recognize abnormal findings to report to your child's doctor to prevent hospitalization and further complications. Common conditions of children enrolled in PDHC programs include: Oxygen dependent, Cardiac disease, Respiratory disorders, G-tube feedings, Neuromuscular disorders, Seizure disorders, Congenital disorders, Problems from Prematurity, Tracheostomy care, Endocrine disorders (Diabetes), Orthopedic conditions, Post-op care, Post-traumatic injury, Burns/wound care, Unstable Central Nervous System disorders, Ventilator care.
