Our Signature Event, Expressions in Harmony, was a smashing success! Following a series of collaborative workshops, residents proudly displayed their original works alongside impressive pieces from the talented students of Westinghouse Arts Academy.

The gallery was a beautiful testament to the "harmony" found when different generations create together. Residents truly loved the energy and friendship the students brought to each session, making the artistic process even more meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to the Westinghouse students for your time and guidance. You didn't just help us create art—you helped us create wonderful memories!

Community members enjoyed a lovely afternoon on the porch for our weekly social. This month, we launched a new program featuring a monthly tasting of snacks from around the world!

Participants sampled Lay's potato chip flavors from China, including Cucumber, Bamboo, Numb and Spicy Hot Pot, Mango, and Squid. The surprising favorite was Squid! Everyone also received personal water bottles to encourage hydration throughout the day. Looking forward to more Porch Socials!

Community members in Wellspring took advantage of the beautiful spring weather to work on their paintings outdoors. Assisted by the connections and wellness teams, everyone enjoyed the fresh air while putting the finishing touches on pieces for the upcoming Art Show on Thursday, April 23, at 6:00 p.m.. These artworks are the result of a wonderful two-month partnership with students from Westinghouse Arts Academy Charter School, who visited the community to share various painting techniques. It was a perfect day to combine creativity with the warmth of the season in preparation for the upcoming exhibition.

April 6 marked the birthday of Lynne Katzmann’s grandmother, Oma. A true original, Oma survived two world wars, ran her own business in the 1920s and rode her motorcycle well into her 70s. Lynne chose April 6 to launch a bold new vision of what it means to grow older.

Nearly 40 years later, our veteran leadership team carries Oma’s spirit into everything we do. But what truly sets us apart is the depth of experience we have gained over these 38 years, having navigated an evolving industry and the journey of getting older together.

Our strength lies in our shared history, providing the deep roots for a strong culture and a pioneering spirit to keep pushing boundaries and exploring new possibilities.

Our Wellspring Connections and Executive Directors recently participated in Dementia Friends Training, a global initiative designed to transform how we understand and support those living with dementia. By completing this program, our leadership continues to foster a supportive environment where everyone is treated with dignity and compassion. We look forward to applying these meaningful lessons to further strengthen the Juniper Village community.

A sincere thank you goes out to the talented students from Westinghouse Arts Academy Charter School in Wilmerding for visiting and leading a wonderful second art class. Community members truly enjoyed the creative collaboration as they continued preparing pieces for the upcoming art show on April 23rd from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The energy and expertise the students brought to the session made the afternoon special.

Police Chief Doug Cole, of the Monroeville, PA Police Dept, joined us as a special guest bingo caller this week. He shared the story of his journey into law enforcement and spoke about many of the positive initiatives currently happening throughout the area. It was a wonderful opportunity for community members to connect with local leadership while enjoying a few spirited rounds of bingo. We truly appreciate Chief Cole taking the time to visit and share community updates with us.
