**We are expanding our board!**

We have a big mission and not enough people to make it happen, so we are looking to bring on a few big-hearted, get-things-done kind of people. If you or someone you know fits the bill for any of these positions, please let us know!

- ⏱️Time commitment is about 2 hours a month except when we have activities coming up. Then about 4-6 hours.
- 💁‍♀️All board members are volunteers (i.e., unpaid).
- 🛜The bigger your network, the better!
- 🪙We ask for a $25 donation per month per member to the nonprofit.

What we need:
- 👩‍💻Social media coordinator: Increase our reach! We’re currently only on Facebook and need more exposure.
- 🎪Event coordinator: Help us plan our fundraising and service events!
- 📣Recruitment: We want to add participant members, not just board members, so we need someone to help us find those people.

We’re a great group of women—all moms—who have a passion for helping people with special needs in the Mont Belvieu area, primarily, with plans to grow. (Dads and child-free people welcome too!) I want to share info on the upcoming Texas Parent to Parent conference in San Marcos. My family went a couple of times when my daughter was very young, and we found the information presented in the sessions and the resources we found at the vendor fair to be extremely helpful. I cannot recommend going enough!

This link takes you to the registration packet, which has all the session information. To save you from digging, registration is $350 per person, childcare is offered but extra, and the starting room rate at the Embassy Suites is $174 per night if you register in time. If that sounds like too much, they do offer financial assistance! And people who are coming from more than 70 miles away (that's us!) get preference.

WOW! Y'all really showed up for our Easter egg hunt today! We are floored by how many turned up and so THANKFUL for your support of and interest in FUNctional Abilities. We'd love to see your pics If you want to share!

Also, BIG thank yous go out to all these great organizations:

- H-E-B for donating chips and water bottles
- Chick-fil-A for donating tons of nuggets
- Blue Zone Boba & Brew for serving everyone free yummy limeades and iced coffees
- Stellar Steam Cleaning for joining us and passing out free goodies
- Crazy 'bout Cupcakes for donating the delicious frosting for our cookie-decorating station
- Dollar General in Beach City for filling up 70 helium balloons
- Linda with Chambers County for being so amazing to work with in arranging our use of the Old River-Winfree community building

Plus, we could not have done it without our amazing volunteers! Thank you PALs and NHS students, as well as our invested community!

We know it got a little cramped in the community building and are already thinking of how to make this event better in 2026. Please leave us your suggestions in the comments below (or PM us if you prefer) so we can better accommodate ALL of our special loved ones!
