JOB SUMMARY:
The Activity Director will be responsible for the development of a diversified activity and exercise programs geared towards the varying degrees of physical, mental and emotional needs represented by the entire community resident population
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The Activity Director will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
a. Development and distribution of monthly calendars
b. Development and submission of monthly budget
c. Development and distribution of monthly newsletter
d. Locating and scheduling of entertainment
e. Overseeing Resident Council meetings and recording minutes
f. Encouraging Resident participation
g. Scheduling outings and accompanying residents on outings
h. Assisting in all aspects of social events, such as holiday celebrations and open houses
i. Assisting in serving the residents at meal time
j. Being familiar with the facility and prepared to give visitor tours
2. The Activity Director will be required to work a variety of hours and days dependent upon the scheduled activities. When the Activity Director is unable to attend a scheduled activity or entertainment, this person will make sure that their activity assistant is there to coordinate in their place.
3. The Activity Director will report to the Administrator and/or Assistant Administrator and will meet regularly with that person to provide status reports and engage in the process of strategic planning related to the position.
4. Most importantly, the Activity Director will maintain a positive and compassionate working relationship with the residents.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
• The person in this position must be outgoing, warm, friendly, able to keep composure during critical times, able to blend in with staff and residents, and able to formulate a new direction quickly when the need arises by being a problem solver and be able to communicate with all personality types.
• The person in this position will be required to maintain the proper documentation to ensure compliance with policies and procedures as set forth by CALSON MANAGEMENT as well as State, Local and Federal rules and regulations which regulate the operation and licensure of the facility and its staff.
• It will be mandatory within the first (7) days of employment that this person have a Health Certification signed by a Physician. This certification must verify that this person has no communicable diseases, open lesions, or any other health problem, which could interfere with individual’s job performance.
• This person must be criminally cleared by DOJ and FBI via the Live-Scan process prior to employment.
• This person understands that CALSON MANAGEMENT operates as a Drug Free Workplace per Policies set forth in the Company Handbook.
• Must maintain a first aid card
• High School graduate
• This person should have worked in the Industry minimum 2 years or have an Activity Director Certification.
• Computer experience in MS Office or comparable programs, ability to create calendar of events, invitations, charts, graphs, reports as required by the position.
