This is a good read explaining the research that has been done showing how float therapy lowers anxiety and improves mood, which actively enhances key cognitive abilities required for decision-making such as creativity, focus, and problem-solving.

I don't always go into a float with an objective, but when there is a tough decision I need to make or a problem I'm stuck on, there is no better place for me to unburden my mind and figure things out. Pretty amazing how I tend to get legitimate epiphanies in the tank with no clue how they came to me.

THROWBACK:  8 years ago this week, we were deep in the construction phase of Salt Float Montclair. It doesn't even seem real to see the float center in its "bare bones" infancy like this. It is amazing how beautiful the shop came out and even more amazing that we have hosted over 30,000 floats since our opening day.

PERFECT Float Weather lately. When it's cold and dreary, a float session can warm AND cheer you up. By removing all sensory input, your body enters the parasympathetic response and generates dopamine and endorphins making you naturally feel better.

With this year's New York City Marathon right around the corner, just reminding all of the athletes out there that Salt Float Center is the perfect spot for some of the most effective and efficient recovery you can find. We have dozens of triathelets, mud runners, cyclists, pro crossfit competitors and marathon runners use float therapy during their training and after their races. The feedback is consistently unanimous. Float therapy is a recovery hack.

Last year, Salt was contacted by film director, Abe Mahdi, about featuring our float tanks in his SCIFI thriller, PULSE. We happily obliged, and now PULSE has been selected for the Darkside New Jersey Film Festival this month (NJ Expo Center Edison, NJ on 10/18). This short film is awesome!

Regular guest at Salt Float Center, Marrouwa, took 4th place this summer at the 2025 USA Cycling Masters and Junior Road National Championships in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Marrouwa attributes an increase in her speed by 3mph due to the recovery she receives at Salt Float Center. The drop in cortisol, adrenaline, blood pressure, heart rate and, most of all, inflammation makes float therapy the go-to recovery regimen of some of the best athletes on the planet including Tom Brady, Steph Curry and our very own resident cyclist.
