The news feels like storm clouds that never break. Each headline is heavier, each story cutting deeper. I look at my neighbors and wonder if they feel the same fear pressing against their windows.

Hatred has found a louder voice, emboldened and unashamed, and it chills me. The air feels different—sharper, darker, less forgiving.
