GLP-1 medications are great, and they’re changing people’s lives, but along with those positive changes come other changes to the body that may need to be addressed cosmetically.

I am treating tons of male and female patients that are on these different weight-loss drugs. They are causing hair loss which we treat with the Keralase hair growth laser.

The GLP-1 meds are causing skin sagging which we treat with the IntraGen, the Zaffiro and the IntraCel.

I recommended the Emsculpt Neo to tighten the abs and lift the butt.

Let’s talk about PCOS. That is, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Many of my female patients suffer from this.

They have increased hair growth on their lower faces, neck, and chest, and they have thinning hair on their heads, irregular periods, cystic acne, and weight gain around their midsection.

The FDA has now quietly rolled back 2022 legislation on talcum powder and asbestos that said that any talc-based product must be tested for asbestos for human safety to help prevent cancer.

This is for the good of everyone. Asbestos should be reported so that makeups, that is, highlighter, foundation, liquid eyeliner, blush, bronzer, dry shampoos, baby powders, and other powders are asbestos-free.

As many of us know, asbestos naturally occurs with talc, so it must be tested, and that is how so many people from around the world for the past 80+ years have had lung cancer, mesothelioma, and ovarian cancer due to asbestos in talc.

In the meantime, we should all use talc-free makeup and talc-free powder and push our government officials, senators, and Congresspeople to uphold this important legislation.
