We would like to thank The Adjutant General of Colorado, DMVA staff and members of the Colorado Board of Veterans Affairs who flew in on a Chinook helicopter today to spend time with Homelake's heroes. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who came out this morning to help support the mission of Wreaths Across America to Remember the Fallen, Honor those that serve and have served and their families, and to Teach the next generation the value of freedom.

This was by far our largest group of volunteers and it was especially heartwarming to see so many children in attendance today.

Veterans Community Living Center at Homelake was opened in 1891 as Colorado's Soldiers' and Sailors' Home, providing a peaceful home for aging and disabled Civil War veterans. Homelake, believes in honoring our residents with compassionate and dignified care, has caring for veterans from every major war in U.S. history. Our home is situated on a tranquil 25 acre site in the Heart of the beautiful San Luis Valley. Our natural surroundings and historic buildings offer scenic views of the lake and surrounding mountains and provide a relaxed and serene environment for the care of our residents.
